MetroCentre (shopping centre)
The MetroCentre (styled corporately as metrocentre and on road signs as Metro Centre) is a shopping centre in the United Kingdom. Located in Gateshead, near Newcastle upon Tyne, on a former industrial site close to the River Tyne, the Metrocentre opened in stages, with the first phase opening on 28 April 1986 and the official opening on 14 October 1986. It has more than 340 shops occupying 194,400 square metres of retail floor space, making it the largest shopping and leisure centre in the UK.

MetroCentre railway station
MetroCentre railway station is a railway station that serves the MetroCentre shopping and leisure complex in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. It is located on the Tyne Valley Line from Newcastle upon Tyne to Carlisle, and is managed by Northern Rail. The station opened on 3 August 1987. It is an unmanned station, connected to the MetroCentre mall by a covered footbridge. Initially called Gateshead MetroCentre, the station's name was shortened to MetroCentre from 17 May 1993.
Dunston railway station
Dunston railway station serves Dunston, an area of Gateshead, in Tyne and Wear, northern England. It is located on the Tyne Valley Line which runs from Newcastle upon Tyne to Carlisle. The station first opened on 1 January 1909. It was originally known as Dunston-on-Tyne, and served as the terminus of a shuttle service from Newcastle. This service ended on 4 May 1926, and the station was closed.

Winlaton
Winlaton is a village situated in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. Once an independent village in County Durham, it became incorporated into the metropolitan county of Tyne and Wear and Borough of Gateshead in 1974. Winlaton was once at the centre of the local steel industry. Ambrose Crowley, a Quaker nail-manufacturer, moved in 1691 to Winlaton. He set up furnaces and forges there and on the River Derwent at Winlaton Mill.

The Scotswood Railway Bridge is a disused railway bridge crossing the River Tyne in North East England, formerly part of the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway, carrying the main line between the Scotswood and Blaydon stations.
Blaydon Bridge
The Blaydon Bridge is one of the main bridges crossing the River Tyne in North East England linking Scotswood in Newcastle upon Tyne and Blaydon in Gateshead. The bridge was designed by Bullen and Partners and built by Edmund Nuttall between 1987 and 1990. It is a concrete bridge with two concrete piers in the river. When completed, it formed the link between the existing Gateshead Western By-pass and the newly constructed Newcastle-upon-Tyne Western By-pass.
Ottovale coke works
Ottovale coke works was a large industrial complex situated at Blaydon Burn, near Blaydon-on-Tyne, Gateshead, North East England. The complex comprised a coke works, tar works and a power station. Built on the site of Dockendale Hall in 1904, it was operated by the Priestman Collieries until the 1970s. The power station at the plant, known as Blaydon Burn Power Station or the Priestman Power Station was fuelled by waste heat from the coking process.
Bullocksteads Sports Ground
Bullocksteads Sports Ground is a rugby and football facility in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is situated next to the Kingston Park stadium. It is the former home of Gosforth RFC. It has 13 grass pitches. Northumbria University and Premiership Rugby team, the Newcastle Falcons, are planning to turn it into a Rugby Development Centre.

Milecastle 7
Milecastle 7 (Benwell Bank or Benwell Hill) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. The milecastle itself has not been discovered by archaeologists and its presumed location lies beneath a modern housing development. Roman finds have been made in the area and the associated structure of Turret 7B is a significant surviving structure of the wall.
Milecastle 8
Milecastle 8 (West Denton) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. Its remains are located in what is now West Denton, Newcastle upon Tyne. The milecastle has two associated turret structures which are known as turret 8A and turret 8B. The turrets and milecastle were excavated in the 1920s, yielding some pottery and stone carvings, but have since been overlain by modern roads. The exact locations of the structures is disputed, with the road now hiding any surface traces.
St Stephen's Church, Low Elswick
St Stephen's Church, Low Elswick, is a redundant Anglican church in Brunel Terrace, Low Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England. It has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

The Metrocentre Transport Interchange serves the MetroCentre in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England. The bus station is managed by the shopping centre and Nexus operate the bus station's travel centre. A footbridge connects the Interchange the railway station (to the north) and the shopping mall (to the south). Go North East is the main bus operator that serves the Interchange. Stagecoach in Newcastle, Classic Coaches and Gateshead Central Taxis also serve it.
