Stanley Elton Hollis VC (21 September 1912 – 8 February 1972) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He has the unique distinction of receiving the only Victoria Cross awarded on D-Day (6 June 1944).
Acklam Hall
Acklam Hall is a Restoration mansion in the former village, and now suburb, of Acklam in Middlesbrough, in the unitary authority of Middlesbrough and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. It is a Grade I listed building. It was built by William Hustler in 1678. A long-held, albeit unverified family tradition noted that the Hall was subject to a royal progress by the then-sovereign, King Charles II, in 1684.

Teesside Park
Teesside Park is a retail superstore and leisure development in Stockton-on-Tees, built in 1988. Located just off the A66 near the A66/A19 interchange, it is split between the unity authorities of Stockton-on-Tees (retail park) and Middlesbrough (leisure park) with the line of the Old River Tees, which runs down the middle of the development, forming the boundary between the two authorities. The development has an eye-catching central building.

Acklam Grange School is a specialist college of mathematics and computing, situated at the end of Lodore Grove, Acklam, Middlesbrough, England. It opened in 1952 and has gone through many changes, being first Hugh Bell School, then Stainsby School, and currently Acklam Grange Secondary School. Andrea Crawshaw became headteacher in 2011 replacing John Bate who retired in 2011.
Acklam Park
Acklam Park on Green Lane, in Acklam, Middlesbrough, in north east England held 45 first class and 24 list A limited overs matches between 1956 and 1996. The 12-acre ground, which also holds two rugby fields, was established in 1932 and is the home ground of Middlesbrough Cricket Club who were founded in 1875. The main pavilion and most of the banking which surrounds the playing area were built in 1953 and Yorkshire CCC played their first match there, against Glamorgan CCC in 1956.
King's Manor School
King's Manor Speciality Sports School was a secondary school in Acklam, Middlesbrough, England. It was situated on Hall Drive and is next to Hall Garth Community Arts College; the two schools merged in 2010 to create Oakfields Community College. The new school combines both Performing Arts and Sports specialities. Hall Garth, being the least occupied, moved staff and pupils into the King's Manor buildings, and new school buildings were constructed on the Hall Garth site and opened in 2012.
