Swinton, Greater Manchester
Swinton is a town within the City of Salford, in Greater Manchester, England. Historically in Lancashire, Swinton is located on the A6 road. It stands on gently sloping ground on the southwest side of the River Irwell, and within the bounds of the orbital M60 motorway. It is 3.4 miles west-northwest of Salford, and 4.2 miles west-northwest of Manchester. Swinton and the adjoining towns of Pendlebury and Clifton together have a population of 41,347.

Eccles College
Eccles College was an incorporated further education college in Eccles, Greater Manchester, England. It opened in 1973, and ceased to function as an independent body on 1 January 2009. It is located on the East Lancashire Road, a dual carriageway. It is about a 15-minute walk from Swinton town centre and Swinton Shopping Centre or a five-minute drive. Under the recent government plan the school was to merge with The Swinton Academy, however the merger will not go ahead, instead a new school will be built.

Monton Green railway station
Monton Green railway station is a closed station in Eccles. Opened on 1 November 1887, Monton Green was the first station on the London and North Western Railway's Manchester and Wigan Railway, which connected Eccles with Wigan and the Tyldesley Loopline which connected Tyldesley, Leigh and Kenyon Junction. Other stations on the line were located at Worsley and Ellenbrook. The station was built on an embankment at the road junctions of Canal Bank and Parrin Lane in Monton.

Worsley railway station was opened in 1864 to serve the town of Worsley in Greater Manchester. The Tyldesley Loopline and all its stations closed in 1969 as a result of the Beeching Axe.

Monton Mill, Eccles
Monton Mill was a cotton spinning mill in Eccles, Greater Manchester, England, built in 1906. It was taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1930s and passed to Courtaulds in 1964. Production finished, it was demolished but its name is preserved in the street name.
