Heald Green railway station
Heald Green railway station serves the suburb of Heald Green in Stockport, England. The station is on the Styal Line, opened in 1909 by the London & North Western Railway, between Gatley and Wilmslow. To the south of the station is Heald Green Junction, a triangular junction for the branch to Manchester Airport.

Wythenshawe bus station serves the Wythenshawe area of Greater Manchester, England. The bus station was opened by the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive in 1981. It is mainly served by operators Stagecoach Manchester and Arriva North West. Most buses that call here also provide links to Manchester Airport. Wythenshawe Bus Station can be divided into two parts.
Peel Hall, Wythenshawe
Peel Hall is an area of Wythenshawe approximately nine miles south of Manchester City Centre, and a mile or so north of Manchester Airport in North West England. Peel Hall is on the eastern boundary of Wythenshawe and borders onto Heald Green and Gatley (which are in the borough of Stockport, part of Greater Manchester). The area comprises both social housing and private housing, most of which were built in the 1950s and 1960s.

Shadowmoss Metrolink station is a future station proposed in Phase 3b of the Manchester Metrolink. The station is scheduled to open in 2016 and will be located on the Airport line on Shadowmoss Road near the Ringway Trading Estate.
Wythenshawe Town Centre Metrolink station
Wythenshawe Town Centre Metrolink station is a future station proposed in Phase 3b of the Manchester Metrolink. The station is scheduled to open in 2016 and will be located on the Airport line in Wythenshawe town centre next to shops, the library and Wythenshawe Forum. A new bus station is also proposed next to the Metrolink station, which would replace existing stops at the current bus station and Wythenshawe Forum.
Robinswood Road Metrolink station
Robinswood Road Metrolink station is a future station proposed in Phase 3b of the Manchester Metrolink. The station is scheduled to open in 2016 and will be located on the Airport line on Simonsway at the junction of Brownley Road and Ruddpark Road, with Manchester Airport-bound services stopping to the left of the junction and Manchester-bound services stopping to the right.
1951 Ringway Dakota accident
On 27 March 1951 a Douglas Dakota 3 cargo aircraft registered G-AJVZ operated by Air Transport Charter en route from Ringway Airport, Manchester, England, to Nutts Corner Airport, Antrim, Northern Ireland, crashed shortly after take-off following the failure of the aircraft to gain height. There were four fatalities, two of the three crew on board and two of the three passengers.
British European Airways Flight 411
British European Airways Flight 411 crashed on approach to Manchester Airport after a flight from Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport on the 14 March 1957 and hit a house in Wythenshawe. All on board, 20 passengers and crew, died in the crash as did two people in the house. The aircraft involved was a Vickers Viscount registration G-ALWE operated by British European Airways. The cause of the crash was metal fatigue in flaps causing loss of control.
