Herculaneum Dock
Herculaneum Dock was part of the Port of Liverpool in Liverpool, England. It was situated at the southern end of the Liverpool dock system, on the River Mersey. To the north it was connected to Harrington Dock. The dock was named after the Herculaneum Pottery Company that had occupied the site before. From 1767, a tidal basin in the area that would become the dock was used for unloading copper for a smelting works. Between 1794 and 1841 it was the site of a pottery.
Cast Iron Shore
Cast Iron Shore (colloquially known as 'The Cazzy') was a name given to the banks of the Mersey in south Liverpool due to the presence of an iron foundry. St Michael's Church, opened in 1815, was known as the Cast Iron Church because of the extensive use of cast iron in its construction. Cast Iron Shore is mentioned in The Beatles' song "Glass Onion". Liverpool poet, Justine Tennant, also mentions the Cast Iron Shore in her poem Norra Lorra Otters.
Princes Park, Liverpool
Princes Park in Toxteth, Liverpool, England, is a 45 hectare municipal park, 2 miles south east of Liverpool city centre. In 2009 it had it status upgraded to a Grade II* Historic Park by English Heritage. The park was originally a private development (though open to the public) by Richard Vaughan Yates, the cost of which was expected to be met through the development of grand Georgian-style housing around the park. In 1918 the park was acquired by Liverpool City Council.
Toxteth Unitarian Chapel
Toxteth Unitarian Chapel is in Park Road, Dingle, Liverpool, England. Since the 1830s it has been known as The Ancient Chapel of Toxteth. It has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building, and continues to be in use as a Unitarian chapel. It is a member of the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches, the umbrella organisation for British Unitarians.
Liverpool Overhead Railway Southern Extension Tunnel
The Liverpool Overhead Railway Southern Extension Tunnel stretches for half a mile from Herculaneum Dock to Dingle railway station, on the Liverpool Overhead Railway. It is now disused, the former station now being a garage. The tunnel may be unique in that is leads to an underground station on what was an overhead railway. It was not that the line was inclined downward into the ground but it intersected a hill.

Norwegian Fishermans’ Church in Liverpool, England, is one of 29 churches organised by Sjømannskirken (Norwegian Church Abroad), a voluntary organisation serving the religious needs of Norwegians abroad on behalf of the Church of Norway. It is a Grade II listed building, situated in Southwood Road.
International Garden Festival
The International Garden Festival was a garden festival recognised by the International Association of Horticultural producers (AIPH) and the Bureau of International Exhibitions and held in Liverpool, England from 2 May 1984 to 14 October 1984. It was the first such event held in Britain, and became the model for several others held during the 1980s and early 1990s.
Holy Land (Liverpool)
The Holy Land is an area of Dingle, Liverpool, composed of several streets with streets named after prophets, including Moses Street, Isaac Street, Jacob Street and David Street. At the end of the 19th Century, it was observed that there still existed similarly named places including a farm named Jericho, a stream named Jordan and landmarks called David's Throne and Adam's Battery. Some attribute the name to the population of Nonconformists in the region in the early 17th century.
Dingle railway station
Dingle railway station is a disused underground railway station located on the Liverpool Overhead Railway (LOR), at the south end of Park Road, Dingle, Liverpool. It was the only below ground station on the line. Trains accessed the station via a half-mile underground tunnel, bored from the cliff face at Herculaneum Dock to Park Road.
Riverside (Liverpool ward)
Riverside is a Liverpool City Council Ward in the Liverpool Riverside Parliamentary constituency. It contains a part of Toxteth, the Dingle and the southern part of the city centre. It was formed for the 2004 Municipal elections from the former Abercromby and Dingle wards.
Royal Park Hotel, Toxteth
The Royal Park Hotel was a large, handsome public house and hotel situated on the corner of Admiral Street and North Hill Street, Toxteth, Liverpool, England. It was built in the 1860s as a three-storey building by the brewer Walkers of Warrington. In its heyday, The Royal Park was just one of five pubs that lined North Hill Street. The original name of the pub probably refers to the fact that Toxteth was a Royal Park. In the bar, a long bar ran the length of the pub curving at the end.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church
Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a Roman Catholic Church on High Park Street in Dingle, Liverpool. The church was built when the parish population had outgrown the nearby Church of St Patrick on Park Place. Initially, from 1866, a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel was used in the school. The church proper opened on 21 July 1878. In December 2009 the church and the adjoining presbytery gained Grade II lised status.
