Beaumanor Hall
Beaumanor Hall is a stately home with a park in the small village of Woodhouse on the edge of the Charnwood Forest, near the town of Loughborough in Leicestershire, England. It was built in 1845-7 by architect William Railton in Elizabethan style for the Herrick family. and is a Grade II* listed building It was used during the Second World War for military intelligence.

Located between the larger Woodhouse Eaves and Quorn villages, this picturesque village, with a mixture of small cottages and large modern houses, is one of the most expensive villages in the county. It is a commuter village for both Leicester and Loughborough, as well as further afield. Beaumanor Hall, ancestral home of the Herrick family, was used as a listening station during the war.

The Loughborough Rural District was a rural district of Leicestershire, England, from 1894 to 1935/1936. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 and covered that part of the Loughborough Rural Sanitary District in Leicestershire. It was split, under the review caused by the Local Government Act 1929, to expand the existing Barrow upon Soar Rural District, Castle Donington Rural District, with parts going to various urban districts.
