Nanpantan
Nanpantan is a small village in the Charnwood borough of Leicestershire, England. It is located in the south-west of the town of Loughborough, but the village is slightly separated from the main built-up area of Loughborough. It is also the site of the Nanpantan Reservoir. The first edge rails used in a wagonway were on the Charnwood Forest Canal, in the section between Nanpantan and Loughborough.

Charley is a civil parish located in the North West Leicestershire district of Leicestershire, England. According to the 2001 census, it had a population of 203. It is set within the Charnwood Forest. A quarry within the parish was the source of Charley Forest whetstones. Charley is near to Shepshed, Bawdon Lodge, Copt Oak and Whitwick.

Mount St Bernard's Abbey is a Cistercian monastery of the Strict Observance near Whitwick in Leicestershire, England, founded in 1835. Its present Superior is Dom Joseph Delargy. The Cistercian order dates back to the 12th century and the Trappists to the mid-17th century. Mount St Bernard's Abbey is the only abbey belonging to this order left in England.
Blackbrook Reservoir
Blackbrook Reservoir is a large body of water near Shepshed, Leicestershire, in England. The reservoir was constructed in 1796 in order to feed the Charnwood Forest Canal, which has long since vanished. The first dam constructed was an earthworks one, and this failed on February 20 of 1799. In eleven minutes the reservoir was empty and as a result local farmland was ruined, sheep were drowned, and much of Shepshed and nearby Loughborough were affected by flood waters.
Long Whatton
Long Whatton is a village in the English county of Leicestershire. It is south of East Midlands Airport, off Junctions 23 and 23A of the M1 motorway, and has easy access to Loughborough via the A6 and to Shepshed, Ashby de la Zouch and Kegworth. The village is at National Grid Reference SK481229. It is a linear settlement, situated largely along a single road. There are two public houses: The Royal Oak and The Falcon; The Royal Oak has an entry in the 2012 Campaign for Real Ale Good Beer Guide.

All Saints Church, Long Whatton
All Saints Church, Long Whatton, is located in the village of Long Whatton, Leicestershire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Akeley East, the archdeaconry of Loughborough, and the diocese of Leicester. The church has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building. It dates mainly from the 14th century, with a tower dating from the late 12th or early 13th century, and its upper stage added in the 15th or 16th century.
