Melton and Belvoir Rural District
Melton and Belvoir Rural District was a rural district of Leicestershire, England, from 1935 to 1974. It was formed in 1935 from the merger of the Melton Mowbray Rural District and the Belvoir Rural District, with part going to Melton Mowbray urban district also. In 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972 the district merged with the Melton urban district to form the new non-metropolitan district of Melton.
Melton Rural District
Melton was a rural district in Leicestershire, England from 1894 to 1935. It was created in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894 as a successor to the Melton Rural Sanitary District. It entirely surrounded, but did not include, Melton Mowbray Under the County Review Orders of the 1930s it was merged with the Belvoir Rural District to form a larger Melton and Belvoir Rural District, with Eye Kettleby and parts of other parishes going to Melton Mowbray Urban District.
Goadby Marwood
Goadby Marwood is a village in the north of the English county of Leicestershire. It is about 6 miles north of Melton Mowbray and a few miles from the Vale of Belvoir. Most of the houses are built from locally-mined ironstone and some, including Goadby Hall, date from the 17th century. There is only one road into, and out of, the village. Goadby Marwood has no public house or shop, but has a post office with limited opening hours.
Scalford railway station
Scalford railway station was a railway station serving the village of Scalford, Leicestershire on the Great Northern and London and North Western Joint Railway. It opened in 1879 and closed to regular traffic in 1953. It was the junction for a branch line to Waltham on the Wolds which was built to exploit ironstone deposits in the area.

Twinlakes Theme Park
Twinlakes is a theme park located 0.5 miles (0.75 kilometres) north-east of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England, which was opened in September 2003, eleven months after the site was purchased. The 70-acre park is family friendly with a large proportion of its rides being for young children, in comparison with other theme parks such as Alton Towers and Drayton Manor. Furthermore, groups of visitors with no children are not allowed access to the park.
Goadby Hall
Goadby Hall is a privately owned 17th-century country house at Towns Lane, Goadby Marwood, Leicestershire. It is a Grade II* listed building. The house was substantially altered about 1750, when a new south front was built in the Palladian style. Five recessed central bays extend to two storeys with attics, the central three bays of which are pedimented with Doric order columns. Two flanking wings of two storeys have two bays each. The plainer north front has three storeys and seven bays.
