Ravenstone with Snibston is a civil parish in the North West Leicestershire district of Leicestershire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 2,149. The parish includes Ravenstone and part of Snibston.
Snibston Colliery Ground
The Snibston Colliery Ground is a cricket stadium based in the town of Coalville, Leicestershire. It has also known as the North West Leicestershire Miners Welfare Centre, and is the home of Snibston Grange CC. It has, in the past, been used by Leicestershire as an outground and has held 9 games in total. 8 First class games and a single one day game. The first game took place in 1957 against Glamorgan and the last in 1982 against Derbyshire.

Snibston is a former coal mining village in Coalville, north west Leicestershire, in the English Midlands, now part of the civil parish of Ravenstone with Snibston. Its 13th century church of St Mary is the smallest church still in use for regular worship in England.
Swannington, Leicestershire
Swannington is a former mining village in Leicestershire, England. It was a terminus of the early (1832) Leicester and Swannington Railway that was built to carry away its pits' output. The parish church of Saint George was opened in 1825 to serve the townships of Swannington and Thringstone and is built on a spot reputedly chosen by William Wordsworth, a regular guest of Sir George Beaumont of nearby Coleorton Hall.
Coleorton Wood
Coleorton Wood is near to Coalville in North West Leicestershire, England. {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:52|44|39.93|N|1|24|36.48|W|region:GB |primary |name= }} It is a six-hectare mixed woodland that was planted during the early days of the National Forest. The site was formerly Coleorton Pit, or colliery, which opened in 1875, and closed in the 1930s. It gained the local nickname of 'Bug and Wink' colliery.
Sence Valley Forest Park
Sence Valley Forest Park is located to the north of Ibstock in North West Leicestershire, and within the National Forest, England. It is situated on the site of a former open cast mine where, between 1982 and 1996, eight million tonnes of coal were extracted by opencast mining. The 60-hectare site has since been transformed by tree planting and the creation of lakes, and is now managed by the Forestry Commission.
Alton, Leicestershire
Alton is a deserted medieval village between Coalville and Ashby-de-la-Zouch, in North West Leicestershire, England. The earliest documentation of the village is found in the Domesday Book where it appears as Heletone. The land was rented out to someone by Hugh de Grandmesnil, and had a total value of 60 shillings. The name is probably derived from ald, and the suffix tūn, meaning "old farm".
Flagship Diamond Wood
The Flagship Diamond Wood is a newly created woodland in Leicestershire, UK. Covering 186 hectares, it is the centrepiece of a wide-ranging Jubilee Project by The Woodland Trust to mark the 2012 Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The site incorporates a former opencast coal mine which now has a newly created lake, as well as former arable land and 7 hectares of existing ancient woodland and old hedgerows.
