Charnwood Forest
Charnwood Forest is an upland tract in north-western Leicestershire, England, bounded by Leicester, Loughborough, and Coalville. The area is undulating, rocky and picturesque, with barren areas. It also has some extensive tracts of woodland; its elevation is generally 600 ft (180 m) and upwards, the area exceeding this height being about 6,100 acres . The highest point, Bardon Hill, is 912 ft (278 m).
Swithland Wood
Swithland Wood is a public woodland in Charnwood Forest, in Leicestershire. Although close to the village of Swithland, it is almost entirely within the parish of Newtown Linford. It is just north of Bradgate Park and also near Woodhouse Eaves and Cropston. The wood is part of the Swithland Wood and The Brand SSSI, noted for both its biological and geological interest, and is Leicestershire's most important ancient woodland for nature conservation.
Old John
Old John is a folly atop the highest hill in Bradgate Park, Leicestershire, England. It was built in 1784, by the Grey family of Groby, and was originally an observation tower built to give the ladies a view of a race course which circled the top of the hill. It is well known for its "mug-shape", the 'handle' of which was added later, supposedly in memory of a beer-loving family retainer.

Bradgate Electoral Division is a County Council electoral division in Leicestershire, England, taking its name from Bradgate Park which is at the centre of the division. It includes the villages of Anstey, Cropston, Thurcaston, Newtown Linford, Ulverscroft, Swithland, Woodhouse and Woodhouse Eaves, and is currently represented by David Snartt.

Groby Old Hall
Groby Old Hall is partly a 15th-century brick-built manor house and grade II* listed building located very near the site of Groby Castle in the village of Groby in Leicestershire. The grand hall which preceded the current building was probably built by the Ferrers family, Barons of Groby, the 1st Baron Ferrers of Groby having been ennobled for services to Edward I and Edward II {{#invoke:Footnotes|sfn}}.
Sheet Hedges Wood
Sheet Hedges Wood is approx. 1-mile north of Groby, in Leicestershire. {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:52|40|26.59|N|1|13|43.35|W|region:GB |primary |name= }} The site is made up of two areas of woodland and an agricultural field with public access, extending 29 acres . The woodland block is adjacent to the road includes a car park and access trails. The other woodland is larger and is an area of high ecological value, which holds Site of Special Scientific Interest status.
Bradgate House
Bradgate House was built in 1856 for the seventh Earl of Stamford, George Harry Grey. Intended as a replacement for the Bradgate House of 1520, built by his ancestor Thomas Grey, 2nd Marquess of Dorset and home of Lady Jane Grey, the house was built in a Jacobean style on a site 2 miles south-west of Bradgate Park. The large, handsome mansion was referred to as "Calendar House", supposedly having 365 windows, 52 rooms and 12 main chimneys. The Earl of Stamford was known for his extravagance.
