Smeeton Westerby is a village located approximately 9 miles south east from Leicester. Originally Smeeton and Westerby were two separate hamlets, but they merged some time ago to become the village that it is today. It is close to Saddington, Kibworth and Fleckney.
Kibworth railway station
Kibworth railway station was opened by the Midland Railway in 1857 on what is now the Midland Main Line. Plans had been made earlier in 1847 for a line from Leicester to Bedford, but had lapsed. However the Midland, running to Rugby at that time and dependent on the LNWR for its path into London, was looking for an alternative. It revived its plans for Bedford to go forward to Hitchin to join the Great Northern Railway.

Kibworth Church of England Primary School is a junior school situated in the village of Kibworth Beauchamp, in Leicestershire, England. It serves the south Leicestershire villages of Kibworth Beauchamp, Kibworth Harcourt, Smeeton Westerby, and Debdale. The school was founded in 1959, with additional capacity added in 1977. It presently has approximately 390 pupils, aged from 4+ to 11 years. There are indoor and outdoor facilities for P.E.
Saddington
Saddington is a village in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. It is close to Smeeton Westerby, Gumley, Kibworth and Fleckney. It is a small hilltop village to the south of Fleckney and overlooks the Saddington Reservoir, constructed in 1802 to feed the Grand Union Canal. The canal flows through the parish and traverses a half-mile-long tunnel.
Laughton, Leicestershire
Laughton is a small village and parish situated in Leicestershire, approximately 5 miles west of Market Harborough. Old buildings dominate Laughton with currently only two modern buildings situated in the village. There is a row of cottages opposite the church that has parts dating back to medieval times. The church itself dates back to the C13th and had a major renovation in 1879.
Kibworth Cricket Club New Ground
Kibworth Cricket Club New Ground is a cricket ground in Kibworth, Leicestershire. The ground replaced the original Kibworth Cricket Club Ground which was sold for development at the end of the 2005 season. The New Ground is located directly next to the development which covers the old ground. The first match on the ground was in 2006, when Kibworth Cricket Club played a Leicestershire CCC XI as part of Darren Maddy's benefit year.
