Shirdley Hill
Shirdley Hill is a small village in the civil parish of Halsall, Lancashire, England, and is situated on the West Lancashire Coastal Plain. It is reached by B roads from either the A5147 or the A570. An £80,000 redevelopment of the village green, completed in 2009, provided the green with a new pond, benches and a flower bed. Shirdley Hill railway station was on the Liverpool, Southport and Preston Junction Railway, though the station closed in 1938, and the track was lifted in 1964.

Shirdley Hill railway station
Shirdley Hill was a railway station in the village of Shirdley Hill, Lancashire, on the Liverpool, Southport and Preston Junction Railway. Situated on Renacres Lane, the station opened on 1 November 1887 and was the only station on the Barton Branch to have a level crossing instead of a road bridge. The "Altcar Bob" service operated through Shirdley Hill from July 1906. The station closed to passengers on 26 September 1938, though the line remained open for goods traffic until 21 January 1952.
Burscough Priory Science College
Burscough Priory Science College is a specialist Science College, in Lancashire, England. It officially opened on 10 June 1958 as Burscough County Secondary School under the Headship of Brian Stone, and cost just over £120,000 to build. The then Edward Stanley, 18th Earl of Derby (1918–1994) presided over the ceremony. At the time of opening, the school's staff of ten teachers looked after 222 pupils.
Halsall railway station
Halsall railway station was a railway station in the village of Halsall, Lancashire, on the Liverpool, Southport and Preston Junction Railway. Situated north of Carr Moss Lane, it opened on 1 November 1887 and closed on 26 September 1938. The tracks were lifted shortly after the line closed in 1952, though the station building survives as a private residence. The "Altcar Bob" service once operated through this station.
New Cut Lane Halt railway station
New Cut Lane Halt was a railway station between Shirdley Hill and Halsall in Lancashire. The station opened in July 1906 as a halt on the Liverpool, Southport and Preston Junction Railway, and consisted of simple cinder based platforms at track level. It was situated to the south of the roadbridge on New Cut Lane, to which it was connected by wooden steps. The station closed to passengers on 26 September 1938 and the tracks were lifted shortly after the line closed in 1952.
Tower Hill Water Tower
Tower Hill Water Tower is a disused water tower and local landmark in Ormskirk, Lancashire. Situated on the east side of Tower Hill, it was built between 1853-4 for Ormskirk Local Board of Health, and is reputed to be the oldest remaining water tower in the country. It was awarded Grade II* listed status in 1976, and is on the Buildings at Risk Register. The area immediately surrounding the tower has been used as allotments since the mid 20th century.

The supposed location of Argleton was just off the A59 road within the civil parish of Aughton in West Lancashire, England, which in reality is nothing more than empty fields. Data from Google are used by other online information services which consequently treated Argleton as a real settlement within the L39 postcode area.

Church of St Peter and St Paul, Ormskirk
The Church of St Peter and St Paul is in the market town of Ormskirk, Lancashire, England. Dating from no later than the 12th century, it is one of only three churches in England to have both a western tower and a central spire, and the only one to have them both at the same end of the church. It is an active Anglican parish church in the Diocese of Liverpool. It is designated a Grade II* listed building by English Heritage.

Burscough Junction Station Crash
The Burscough Junction Station Crash occurred on 15 January 1880 at the Burscough Junction railway station on the Liverpool to Preston railway line in England. The line was operated by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway company at the time. There were nine people killed in the accident and more than fifty people were injured.

Blythe Hall, Lathom
Blythe Hall is a large grade II listed country house in Lathom, Lancashire, England, some 3 miles (5 km) north-east of Ormskirk. It is a two storey building of rendered sandstone rubble with stone slate roofs to an originally H-shaped plan with added wings.
