Prescot Parish Church, dedicated to St Mary, is located in the town of Prescot, Merseyside, England. It is designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building, and is an active Anglican parish church.
Whiston railway station
Whiston railway station serves the district of Whiston in Merseyside, England. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Northern Rail. It lies on the northern route of the Liverpool to Manchester Line, the original Liverpool and Manchester Railway. It opened in October 1990, at a cost of £420,000.
Prescot Urban District
Prescot Urban District was a local government district in the administrative county of Lancashire, England from 1894 to 1974. the main settlement of the district was the town of Prescot. In 1974 it was abolished and its former area was transferred to Merseyside to be combined with that of Huyton with Roby Urban District, Kirkby Urban District, parts of Whiston Rural District and parts of West Lancashire Rural District to form the present-day Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley.
Prescot Playhouse
The Prescot Playhouse was a purpose-built Elizabethan theatre in the Lancashire town of Prescot. It was built in approximately 1593, and was demolished in the early 17th century. It was a cockpit design. It was one of the few free-standing theatres outside of London, and most probably served the gentry visiting the Earl of Derby in nearby Knowsley. Several Shakespeare plays were performed there.
Prescot reservoir
In 1857 two small holding reservoirs were built in Prescot to receive water from the Rivington reservoirs. These held sufficient water to supply Liverpool for two days. In 1892 water from Lake Vyrnwy supplemented the water stored in Prescot. Four smaller reservoirs were built with a capacity of 200 million gallons, sufficient to supply Liverpool for four days.
A.F.C. Liverpool
A.F.C. Liverpool is a semi-professional English football club set up by 1,000 Liverpool Football Club fans in 2008. Fans are able to buy into the club on a 'one member-one vote' basis. The club kicked off the 2010–11 season in North West Counties League Division One. In the 2012–13 season they will play in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division. The club was formed in 2008 and won the North West Counties First Division Trophy in its inaugural season.
Valerie Park
Valerie Park, traditionally known as Hope Street, is a stadium in Prescot, Merseyside. It is located on Eaton Street in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley. It is home to Prescot Cables of the Northern Premier League and, since their formation in 2008, A.F.C. Liverpool of the North West Counties Football League. Located about a kilometre from Prescot railway station, the capacity is around 3,200.
