Kirklees
The Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees is a metropolitan borough of West Yorkshire, England. It has a population of 401,000 and includes the settlements of Batley, Birstall, Cleckheaton, Denby Dale, Dewsbury, Heckmondwike, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, Kirkburton, Marsden, Meltham, Mirfield and Slaithwaite. Huddersfield is the largest settlement of the district, and its centre of administration.

Liversedge, Gomersal, Gildersome, Birkenshaw, Mirfield, Cleckheaton, Morley, Tingley, East Ardsley, Birstall and Horbury are peripheral. The manufacture of wool for clothing and blankets and rope and twine is ongoing within the area by companies such as E. Simms/Heavy Woollen Textiles.
Holme Valley
Holme Valley is a large civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. It has a population of 25,049 (2001 census). Its administrative centre is in Holmfirth. Other sizeable settlements in the parish include, Brockholes, Honley and New Mill. It is named from the River Holme that runs through the parish. . The parish is the successor to the Holmfirth urban district.
South Crosland
South Crosland is a village in the metropolitan borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. It was originally a chapelry in the civil parish of Almondbury, and became a separate civil parish in 1866. It became an urban district in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894. The parish and urban district was abolished under a County Review Order in 1938, being split between the county borough of Huddersfield, the Holmfirth Urban District, and the Meltham urban district.
Netherton, Kirklees
Netherton is a village, near Huddersfield, in the Kirklees metropolitan borough of West Yorkshire, England. It is 2 miles (3 km) south-west of the town centre on the road to Meltham. Netherton together with South Crosland have a population of 3,702 according to the 2001 census. It is part of the Crosland Moor and Netherton ward of the Colne Valley parliamentary constituency. It has a junior school and an infant school.
Beaumont Park
Beaumont Park is a suburb of Huddersfield, in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England that is located between Netherton, Crosland Moor and Lockwood. The housing in this area is situated around the periphery of a medium sized woodland and recreational park, known as 'Dungeon Wood' that was bequeathed to the people of Huddersfield in 1879 by the 'Beaumont's of Whitley' estate (Henry Fredrick Beaumont, for leisure purposes.

Netherthong is a small village near the town of Holmfirth. It lies in the Holme Valley in the metropolitan borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. The village is on the B6107 road to Meltham from the main A6024 Woodhead Road through the Holme Valley from Honley to Holmfirth. It has a population of 1,730. Netherthong is also a parish, and the village contains All Saints' Church, built between 1829-30 by Leeds architect Robert Dennis Chantrell and remodelled in 1877.
Holme Valley war memorial
Holme Valley War Memorial is a war memorial in the grounds of the Holme Valley Memorial Hospital Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, in England. It was unveiled in July 1921, by Colonel H. R. Headlam (Rtd), who had previously commanded the 5th Battalion, Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment. The memorial consists of a simple cross with the names of fallen soldiers inscribed on it.
