Kingston upon Hull
Kingston upon Hull, frequently referred to as Hull, is a city and unitary authority area in the ceremonial county of the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It stands on the River Hull at its junction with the Humber estuary, 25 miles (40 km) inland from the North Sea. Hull has a resident population of 256,100 (2011 est.). The Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) population stands at 573,300. The town of Hull was founded late in the 12th century.
Queen's Gardens, Hull
Queen's Gardens is a sequence of gardens in the centre of Kingston upon Hull, England. They are set out within a 9.75-acre area that until 1930 was filled with the waters of Queen's Dock. As the dock was not fully filled in, the gardens are largely below the level of the surrounding streets.
Siege of Hull (1642)
The Siege of Hull in 1642 was the first major action of the English Civil War. As both sides moved towards war, Parliament had access to more military materiel, due to its possession of all major cities including the large arsenal in London. In Kingston upon Hull, where the majority of the inhabitants were royalists, there was a large arsenal which had been established for the Second Bishops' War in 1638.

Kingston upon Hull College of Education
Kingston upon Hull College of Education was founded in 1913 as "Hull Municipal Training College". It changed its names many times, up till September 1976 when it merged into Hull College of Higher Education, which ultimately formed part of the University of Lincoln. Guildhall, Kingston upon Hull

The building suffered bomb damage during the Second World War, some of which is still visible today.
