Leeds Castle

Leeds Castle is a castle in Kent, England, situated 5 miles southeast of Maidstone. A castle has been situated on the site since 1119. In the 13th century it came into the hands of King Edward I, for whom it became a favourite residence, while in the 16th century, Henry VIII used it as a residence for his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. The castle seen today dates mostly from the 19th century and is built on islands in a lake formed by the River Len to the east of the village of Leeds.

Kingswood is a village in the Maidstone District of Kent, England and forms part of the civil parish of Broomfield and Kingswood. The main village was constructed in the early 1960s with earlier sporadic development in both Pitt and Gravelly Bottom Roads during the 1920 and 1930's. Kingswood is situated to the south of the more ancient village of Broomfield. The village has a single village shop come post office and no public house.

Maidstone services are a motorway service station directly off Junction 8 of the M20 motorway near Maidstone, England, owned by RoadChef. They were the first set of services to open on the M20, opening in 1997. Until the 2007 opening of Stop 24 services at Junction 11, they were also the only set on the motorway. There are two entrances at each end of a walkway, one for people arriving by car and one for HGV drivers, with shops and restaurants at each end.

The Kent International Gateway was a proposed logistics hub and strategic rail-freight interchange (SRFI) next to the M20 motorway east of Maidstone. The project was controversial because it was a major development in a Special Landscape Area close to several historic villages. Following a public inquiry that ended in December 2009, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government rejected the proposal on 5 August 2010.
