Pattyndenne Manor
Pattyndenne Manor is a manor house located near to the village of Goudhurst, Kent. This timber framed house was built by the Pattyndenn family around 1480, it was a home and a place to hold the Manor court proceedings. In the 16th century it was sold to Sir Maurice Berkeley, son of Lord Berkeley and a Standard-bearer to Henry VIII, Mary Tudor and Elizabeth I.
John Brunt V.C. (public house)
The John Brunt V.C. is a public house in Paddock Wood in Kent. Originally named The Kent Arms, on 3 September 1947 the pub was formally renamed John Brunt V.C. in honour of an English soldier, John Brunt, who won the Victoria Cross in the Second World War who spent his teenage years in the town. It is the only pub in England to be named after a Victoria Cross holder.

Marden rail crash
The Marden rail crash occurred on 4 January 1969 near Marden, Kent, United Kingdom, when a passenger train ran into the rear of a parcels train, having passed two signals at danger. Four people were killed and 11 were injured. One person was awarded the British Empire Medal for his part in the aftermath of the collision.
