Dover District
Dover is a local government district in Kent, England. Dover is its administrative centre. It was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of the boroughs of Deal, Dover, and Sandwich along with Dover Rural District and most of Eastry Rural District.
Dover College
Dover College is a co-educational private school in Dover in southeast England. It was founded in 1871, and takes both day pupils and boarders. The school occupies some of the medieval buildings of Dover Priory, on a site just east of the eponymous railway station.
Battle of Dover (1217)
The Battle of Dover was a naval battle fought in early 1217 between an English fleet of 30-40 ships under Hubert de Burgh and a French fleet of 80 (mostly small craft) under Eustace the Monk. Dover Priory
The Priory of St. Mary the Virgin and St. Martin of the New Work, or Newark, commonly called Dover Priory, was a priory at Dover in southeast England. It was variously independent in rule, then occupied by canons regular of the Augustinian rule, then finally monks of the Benedictine rule as a cell of Christchurch Monastery, Canterbury. The priory was located just east of what is now Dover Priory railway station, in fact the railway was built on the western part of the site.
River Dour, Kent
The River Dour is a river in the county of Kent, in England. It flows from the villages of Temple Ewell and River, through the village of Kearsney, to Dover. It is roughly 4 km long. It originally had a wide estuary on the site of modern Dover, The estuary was a natural harbour for the Bronze Age settlers and traders in the area. The remains of a Bronze Age seagoing boat (from 3,500 years ago), was found in 1992, and it can be seen in Dover Museum.
St Edmund's Chapel
St Edmund's Chapel is a church in Dover, England, dedicated to St Edmund. It was completed in 1262 as a wayside chapel or chapel of rest for the cemetery for the poor beside the Maison Dieu, just outside the enclosed part of the medieval town, a short distance above Biggin Gate, and for pilgrims setting off for Thomas Becket's shrine at Canterbury Cathedral. This cemetery had been established by the monks of Dover Priory.

A258 road
The A258 road is an A road in England, running through East Kent from Dover to Sandwich. It is in Zone 2 of the Great Britain numbering scheme. It begins at the A256 within Dover, running up Castle Hill and passing Dover Castle on its eastern side and the Duke of York's Royal Military School on its western side. It then crosses the A2 at a four-way roundabout at the top of Jubilee Way before running behind the East Kent coast, with turn-offs to Westcliffe, Martin Mill and St Margaret-at-Cliffe.

Dover Grammar School for Girls is a Specialist Humanities Grammar School for Girls, aged between 11 and 18, and boys aged between 16 and 18, in Dover, England. The school has a range of subjects in the curriculum, as well as extra-curricular activities such as sports, art and drama clubs; the clubs run at lunchtimes and after-school.
HMS Glatton (1914)
HMS Glatton and her sister ship Gorgon were originally built as coastal defence ships for the Royal Norwegian Navy, as Bjørgvin and Nidaros respectively. She was purchased from Norway at the beginning of World War I, but was not completed until 1918 although she had been launched over three years earlier.
