Deal Castle is a 16th century coastal artillery fort, located in Deal, Kent, England, between Walmer Castle and the now lost Sandown Castle.
Deal barracks bombing
The Deal barracks bombing was an attack by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) on a Royal Marines barracks in Deal, England. It took place at 8:27 am on 22 September 1989, when the IRA exploded a time bomb at the Royal Marines School of Music building. The building collapsed, killing 11 marines from the Royal Marines Band Service and wounding another 21.

Deal Timeball
Deal Timeball is a Victorian maritime Greenwich Mean Time signal located on the roof of a waterfront four-storey tower in the coastal town of Deal, in Kent, England. It was established in 1855 by the Astronomer Royal George Biddell Airy in collaboration with Charles V. Walker, superintendent of telegraphs for the South Eastern Railway Company. It was built by the Lambeth firm of engineers Maudslay and Field.
Sandown Castle, Kent
Not to be confused with Sandgate Castle (further to the south), or Sandown Castle on the Isle of Wight. Sandown Castle was one of Henry VIII's Device Forts or Henrician Castles built at Sandown, North Deal, Kent as part of Henry VIII's chain of coastal fortifications to defend England against the threat of foreign invasion. It made up a line of defences with Walmer Castle and Deal Castle to protect the strategic stretch of coast known as the Downs.
St Saviour's, Walmer
St Saviour's is a church on the seafront of Walmer, Kent, United Kingdom. It is dedicated to no saint, but to the Holy Saviour (i.e. to Christ directly). It was built in 1848, in the Neo-Gothic architectural style, as a chapel of ease for the town's boatmen (who, in the days of sail, took supplies out to vessels in the Downs) and to take the pressure off Old St Mary's (previously the parish's only church).
Hamilton Road Cemetery, Deal
Hamilton Road Cemetery is a combined municipal and military burial ground situated in the coastal town of Deal, Kent, in South East England. Opened in May 1856, it was created to provide a new burial ground for Deal at a time when its general population was expanding and when previous, often ad hoc facilities for dealing with deaths in the area no longer sufficed. The cemetery's civilian burials are managed by Dover Council, and its military burials by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
