Stenbury Down
Stenbury Down is a chalk down on the Isle of Wight. It is located close to the town of Ventnor, in the southeast of the island, and rises to 226 metres at its highest point, west of Wroxall, Isle of Wight. There is an obelisk erected in 1774 by Sir Richard Worsley in memory of Sir Robert Worsley of Appuldurcombe House. The monument was struck by lightning in 1831 and partially demolished.
Whiteley Bank
Whiteley Bank, also spelled "Whitely Bank", is a small village or hamlet on the Isle of Wight, England. It is mainly known by the crossroads, now styled as a mini-roundabout, between the A3020, B3327 and Canteen Road to Apse Heath. Whiteley Bank is in Newchurch Parish. Whiteley Bank is the home of the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. The Donkey Sanctuary was established in 1987 to provide a safe home for donkeys in distress. It currently houses about 200 animals.
Ventnor railway station
Ventnor railway station was the terminus of the Isle of Wight Railway line from Ryde. The station lay on a ledge 294 feet above sea level which had to be quarried into the hill side. The station was immediately outside a 1,312 yards long tunnel through St. Boniface Down. A lack of space meant that a turntable was used to allow steam engines to runaround their trains. In later years this was replaced by a three way switch.
Ventnor West railway station
Ventnor West railway station was opened on 1 June 1900 as the final addition to the railway network on the Isle of Wight. It was originally opened as Ventnor Town but the station was renamed in 1923 by the Southern Railway.
Rew Down
Rew Down is a Local Nature Reserve (LNR) located on the south east edge of the Isle of Wight in the hills to the west of Ventnor. The area is a chalk grassland sloping to the south and offering panaramic and far reaching views of the English Channel. It has the Stenbury Trail running along its western boundary and the Ventnor golf club to the North. It is managed by the Isle of Wight Council and is noted for its Highland cattle which have grazed the land since 2003.
Sandford, Isle of Wight
Sandford is a hamlet on the Isle of Wight. Sandford is on the outskirts of Godshill in the southeast part of the island. Sandford has a latitude of {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:50|37|48.23|N|1|13|45.63|W|region:GB-IOW_type:city |primary |name= }}. Sandford is located on the A 3020 road and public transport is provided by route 2 and route 3, run by Southern Vectis. Sandford hosts several businesses, including some farms and a boarding cattery.
Wroxall railway station
Wroxall railway station was an intermediate station on the Isle of Wight Railway line from Ryde, situated between Shanklin and Ventnor with an upland situation. To the north lay Apse Bank with its three bridges, and on leaving the station the gradient increased to 1 in 88 as Ventnor Tunnel was approached.
