A3055 road
The A3055 is an A-Class Road on the Isle of Wight in Southern England. It forms the Southern portion of the circular around-the-Island A-class loop, the northern section being the A3054. The stretch along the south-west coast of the Island is formed by the Military Road. Because of the road's relatively short length, there are no confirmatory signs with distances, although on a few direction signs at junctions you may find the distance to the next major place.
Whitwell Halt railway station
Whitwell Station, on the Ventnor West branch of the Isle of Wight Central Railway, was opened on 26 July 1897 along with the other stations on the branch (with the exception of Ventnor West which opened in 1900). It was equipped with a passing loop, two platforms, a signal box and a substantial station building.
St. Lawrence railway station
St. Lawrence railway station was the original terminus of the branch from Merstone until the 1½ mile extension to Ventnor was completed in June 1900. From 1927 the station was downgraded to the status of an unstaffed halt.
Nettlecombe, Isle of Wight
Nettlecombe is a farming hamlet on the Isle of Wight. It is the site of a deserted medieval village and there is evidence of earthworks close to the present hamlet. There are several fishing lakes in Nettlecombe. It is roughly centered on the corner of High Street and Nettlecombe Lane, about half a mile north of Whitwell. Until 1952, the Isle of Wight Central Railway had a station on Nettlecombe Lane.
Bierley
Bierley is a hamlet on the Isle of Wight. Bierley is in the south of the Isle of Wight, north of Niton and 0.7 miles to the west of Whitwell. Bierley is at the corner of Kingates Lane and Newport Road. Bierley was the site of brickmaking operations in the past. The Prichetts, a local family involved in brickmaking, opened the Bierley brickyard in 1800.

Binnel Bay
Binnel Bay is a bay on the southeast coast of the Isle of Wight, England. It lies between the villages of St. Lawrence and Niton. It faces south towards the English Channel, its shoreline is 1.2 kilometres in length. It stretches from Binnel Point in the east to Puckaster Cove in the west. The bay is remote and is best viewed from Binnel Point.
