North Mymms
North Mymms is a civil parish in the English county of Hertfordshire. The village itself has suffered from enclosure. North Mimms Park and Brookmans Park enclose large areas of the parish. Even the parish church (St Mary's) stands in the park of North Mimms; in it is a chapel, the burialplace of the Coningsbys. There is a monument to Robert Knolles, also of North Mimms Place, of the date 1458. There is also a brass to a priest.
Ridge, Hertfordshire
Ridge is a village and civil parish in the Hertsmere borough of Hertfordshire, situated between Potters Bar and Shenley. It has a small church, St Margaret's and a small playground. There is a public house called the Old Guinea which serves food on most days. The village also holds a fete day on the August bank holiday where anyone is welcome. Ridge is surrounded by countryside with public footpaths for country walks.
Elstree Rural District
Elstree Rural District (until 1941 known as Barnet Rural District) was a rural district in Hertfordshire, England from 1894 to 1974. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 as Barnet Rural District, as successor to the Barnet rural sanitary district. The rural district had an identical area to Barnet RSD except for the parish of South Mimms in Middlesex which went to form a single-parish South Mimms Rural District. The district was renamed Elstree Rural District in 1941.

Manor Lodge School (founded in 1991) is a primary school for children aged 4 - 11 years old, located in Shenley, Hertfordshire. There is a nursery for children aged 3 and above who have older siblings at the school. The school is based in a grade II listed building set in 6 acres of woods, lawns and gardens, and is surrounded by farmland. In 1971, The building appeared as the "Cat Lady"'s house in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange.
M16 motorway
The M16 motorway was the designation planned in the late 1960s and early 1970s for use on Ringway 3, a new motorway planned as part of the London Ringways Plan to run a circular route around London. Construction of the first section of the M16 began in 1973 between South Mimms and Potters Bar in Hertfordshire and opened in September 1975 with the temporary general purpose road designation A1178.

Castle Lime Works Quarry is a 1.6 hectare (3.9 acre) Geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Hertsmere, East Hertfordshire. The site was notified in 1986 under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The site is home to a dis-used chalk quarry which has been retained to show the chalk and soil interface.

Water End Swallow Holes is a 11.3 hectare (27.9 acre) is a biological and geological, site of Special Scientific Interest in Hertfordshire. The site was notified in 1986 under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and is currently managed by the Country Trust as a Nature Reserve.
