Grateley railway station

Grateley railway station is a railway station that serves the village of Grateley, Hampshire and the surrounding countryside. It is located in western portion of the village, near the hamlet of Palestine, and is just under a mile from the eastern part of the village. It is operated by South West Trains. The station opened on 1 May 1857. It was built ¾ mile from the original village after the local landowner objected to it being built any closer.

Museum of Army Flying

The Museum of Army Flying is an award-winning British military aviation museum about the history of flying in the British Army. It is located beside the Army Air Corps Centre in Middle Wallop, close to Andover in Hampshire, England. The Museum’s exhibits include a restored Westland Lynx serial XX153 that was used to set two former world helicopter speed records in 1972, Aérospatiale Gazelle, Bristol Sycamore, the Saunders-Roe Skeeter, and a replica of the rotabuggy, among others.

The Battle of Guoloph took place in the year 439 (437 according to some sources) at what is now Nether Wallop, 15 kilometers southeast of Amesbury, in the district of Test Valley, northeastern Hampshire. {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:51.127440|N|1.569520|W||||| |primary |name= }} The battle pitted a Britonnic alliance against invading Jutes and Saxons.
