Southampton Water
Southampton Water is a tidal estuary north of the Solent and the Isle of Wight in England. The city of Southampton lies at its most northerly point. Along its salt marsh-fringed western shores lie the New Forest villages of Hythe and "the waterside", Dibden Bay, and the Esso oil refinery at Fawley. On the slightly steeper eastern shore are the Southampton suburb of Weston, the villages of Netley and Hamble-le-Rice, and the Royal Victoria Country Park.
Calshot Castle
Calshot Castle is one of Henry VIII's device forts, built on Calshot Spit at the Solent near Fawley to guard the entrance to Southampton Water. Also known as a Henrician Castle, Calshot was built as part of Henry's chain of coastal defences to defend England's coast from foreign invasion especially during the turbulent times after his break from the Roman Catholic Church. It was built as a circular blockhouse with a three storey central keep in 1540 using stone from Beaulieu Abbey.

RNAS Calshot
RNAS Calshot was a First World War Royal Navy air station for seaplanes and flying boats, mainly operating as an experimental and training station, but also providing anti-submarine and convoy protection patrols. It was located at the end of Calshot Spit in Southampton Water, at grid reference SU487024, with the landing area sheltered by the mainland, to the west, north and east, and the Isle of Wight a few miles away to the south on the other side of the Solent.
Calshot Activities Centre
Calshot Activities Centre is located on Calshot Spit near Southampton. Indoor facilities include a velodrome, dry ski slope and climbing wall.
Luttrell's Tower
Luttrells Tower is a three-story stuccoed yellow brick folly south of Southampton, Hampshire near the village of Calshot. It has a 6 storey circular stair turret extending above the rest. It stands on the shore of the Solent, close to the grounds of Eaglehurst House but is owned by the Landmark Trust.
Fawley Tunnel
Fawley Tunnel is a 3-metre diameter, 2-mile long tunnel under Southampton Water between Fawley Power Station and Chilling near Warsash. It was constructed between 1962 and 1965 to carry two 400KV circuits as part of the National Grid.
