M4 motorway
The M4 is a motorway which links London and South Wales. Major towns and cities along the route include Reading, Swindon, Bristol, Newport, Cardiff and Swansea. Originally referred to as the London-South Wales Motorway, the English section was constructed between 1965 and 1971, the Welsh element was completed in 1993 and the Second Severn Crossing opened in 1996. The M4 runs close to the A4 from London to Bristol.

Kew Railway Bridge
Kew Railway Bridge (or Strand-on-the-Green Bridge) spans the River Thames in London, England, between Kew and Strand-on-the-Green, Chiswick. The bridge, which was given Grade II listed structure protection in 1983,was designed by W.R. Galbraith and built by Brassey & Ogilvie for the London and South Western Railway. The bridge is part of an extension to the latter company's railway line from Acton Junction to Richmond.
Chiswick Bridge
Chiswick Bridge is a reinforced concrete deck arch bridge over the River Thames in West London. One of three bridges opened in 1933 as part of an ambitious scheme to relieve traffic congestion west of London, it carries the A316 road between Chiswick on the north bank of the Thames and Mortlake on the south bank. Built on the site of a former ferry, the bridge is 606 feet long and faced with 3,400 tons of Portland stone.

Battle of Turnham Green
The Battle of Turnham Green occurred 13 November 1642 near the village of Turnham Green, at the end of the first campaigning season of the First English Civil War. On the battlefield, the engagement resulted in a standoff between the forces of King Charles I and the much larger Parliamentarian army under the command of the Earl of Essex.

Brentford and Chiswick was a local government district of Middlesex, England from 1927 to 1965. It was created an urban district in 1927 by a merger of the former area of the Brentford Urban District and the Chiswick Urban District. It gained the status of municipal borough in 1932. Oliver's Island
Oliver's Island is a small heavily wooded river island, or ait, in the River Thames in England. The island derives its name from a story that Oliver Cromwell once took refuge on it, but there is almost certainly no truth in this story.

Quintin Boat Club
Quintin Boat Club (QBC) is a rowing club based at the University of Westminster Boathouse on the River Thames, close to Chiswick Bridge in West London. Formally constituted in 1907, it evolved out of the Regent Street Polytechnic’s rowing club which was started in 1879. In 1888, the polytechnic's founder, Quintin Hogg, paid to have a boathouse built for it at Chiswick and also paid for a fleet of boats.

It is held under Amateur Rowing Association Rules of Racing.
University College London Boat Club
University College London Boat Club (UCLBC) is one of University College London's largest student societies, with over 100 formal members. The club is highly successful and has a rich heritage and has a stated annual goal of qualifying as many crews as possible to race at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta and Henley Women's Regatta.
