M1 motorway
The M1 is a north–south motorway in England connecting London to Leeds, where it joins the A1(M) near Aberford. It was the first inter-urban motorway to be completed in the United Kingdom; the first road to be built to motorway standard in the country was the Preston By-pass, which later became part of the M6. The motorway is 193 miles long and was constructed in four phases.
Staples Corner
Staples Corner is a major road junction in London, United Kingdom. It has two linked roundabouts and flyovers, which connect the A406 North Circular Road with the A5 Edgware Road and the start of the M1 motorway. Also running through Staples Corner, between the two roundabouts, is the Midland Main Line and Thameslink railway line. Staples Corner is named after the Staples Mattress factory, which was at the road junction from 1926 to 1986.
Dollis Brook
Dollis Brook, runs through the London Borough of Barnet in North London. It is a tributary of the River Brent, which is itself a tributary of the River Thames. The Dollis Valley Greenwalk follows almost all of Dollis Brook, apart from a short section at the beginning which passes through private land, and the London Loop follows it as far as Barnet Lane. The name Dollis is probably derived from the Middle English word 'dole', meaning the shares of land in the common field.
Post Office Research Station
The Post Office Research Station at Dollis Hill, London, was first established in 1925 and opened by Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald in 1933. In 1943 the world's first programmable electronic computer, Colossus Mark 1 was built by Tommy Flowers and his team, followed in 1944 and 1945 by nine Colossus Mark 2s. These were used at Bletchley Park in Cryptanalysis of the Lorenz cipher.
Paddock (war rooms)
Paddock is the codeword for an alternative Cabinet War Room bunker for Winston Churchill's World War II government located in Dollis Hill, northwest London under the Post Office Research Station. It was constructed in 1939 but only rarely used during the war, with only two meetings of the War Cabinet being held there. It was abandoned in 1944.
Dudding Hill Line
The Dudding Hill Line (or 'Dudding Hill Loop') is a railway line in north-west London running from Acton to Cricklewood. The line has no scheduled passenger service, no stations, no electrification, and a 30 mph speed limit with semaphore signalling, and is lightly used by freight and very occasional passenger charter trains. It is roughly 4 miles long.

Dollis Hill House
Dollis Hill House was an early Nineteenth-Century farmhouse located in the North London suburb of Dollis Hill, on the northern boundary of Gladstone Park. Noteworthy guests such as William Ewart Gladstone and Mark Twain were once entertained there. By The 21st Century, the house was a derelict ruin, having been all but destroyed by fire in the 1990s. Dollis Hill House was a Grade II listed building and listed as grade A on the English Heritage Buildings at Risk Register.
Oxgate Admiralty Citadel
Oxgate Admiralty Citadel is the name given to a military bunker constructed between 1937 and 1940, for the Admiralty, on the corner of Edgware Road and Oxgate Lane, in north London. The citadel was designed to be an away-from-Whitehall base for admiralty operations, useful in the event of a need to evacuate the centre of London. The location was a mile from the Paddock, an alternate Cabinet War Room bunker for Winston Churchill's World War II government.

The Dollis Hill Synagogue is a former Orthodox Jewish house of worship in Dollis Hill, London, England. The congregation first came together in the early part of the 20th century, following an increase of Jewish immigration from the European continent to London. The congregation first met in a private house, then began to rent meeting halls in order to accommodate an increase in worshippers.
