Bishop Wilton Wold

Bishop Wilton Wold is the highest point of the Yorkshire Wolds in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The summit, known as Garrowby Hill, lies about 5 miles (8 km) north of Pocklington. As with most of the wolds, it is wide, flat and agricultural in nature. The A166 road passes right by the top. However it is a Marilyn. There is a trig point, two covered reservoirs and an aerial. The British artist David Hockney painted the view from the summit in 1998.

Burnby Hall Gardens

Burnby Hall Gardens, also known as Stewart’s Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum, are located close to the centre of Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. They are home to the United Kingdom's national collection of hardy water lilies, and contain the largest such collection to be found in a natural setting in Europe. The 8 acres of gardens with two lakes planted with naturalized water lilies were bequeathed to Pocklington by Major Percy Marlborough Stewart.

Church of All Saints, Pocklington

All Saints’ Church, Pocklington is the Anglican parish church for the town of Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is also known locally as the Cathedral of the Wolds, it is an important Grade 1 listed building, dating mainly from the 12th to the 15th century. It is a constituent parish of the Diocese of York.

RAF Pocklington

RAF Pocklington was an operational flying station of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, forming part of Bomber Command, and operating primarily Wellington and Halifax bombers. The station, adjacent to the village of Pocklington at grid reference SE790485, opened in 1941, and was closed in 1946. After a return to agricultural use, the station now forms an industrial estate and a restricted use airfield for a gliding club.
