Great Dorset Steam Fair

The Great Dorset Steam Fair (since 2010 also known as The National Heritage Show) is an annual show featuring steam-powered vehicles and machinery. It now covers 600 acres and runs for five days from the Wednesday after the UK August bank holiday. It is reputedly the largest outdoor show in the world. The fair was founded by Michael Oliver, who died in 2009, and has been held in Dorset, England, every summer since 1969, currently at Tarrant Hinton near Blandford Forum.

RAF Tarrant Rushton

RAF Tarrant Rushton was a Royal Air Force station near the village of Tarrant Rushton east of Blandford Forum in Dorset, England from 1943 to 1947. It was used for glider operations during World War II and later revived for civilian operations. It is currently disused, though some buildings survive.

Tarrant Abbey was an abbey in Tarrant Crawford, Dorset, England. The abbey was founded in the 12th century by Ralph de Kahaines as a Cistercian nunnery, later supposedly the richest in England. Two famous people are associated with the abbey. The first is Queen Joan, the wife of Alexander II of Scotland and daughter of King John of England (Richard I's brother and successor) who is buried in the grave yard (supposedly in a golden coffin).
