RAF North Luffenham

RAF North Luffenham was a Royal Air Force station in Rutland, England, 1940 - 1998. It is near to the villages of Edith Weston and North Luffenham. The station was built as a training airfield, opening in 1940. It was later taken over by 5 Group of RAF Bomber Command as a heavy bomber base, and was expanded by the building of concrete runways later in the war.

Luffenham Heath Golf Club

Luffenham Heath is an 18-hole golf course near South Luffenham in Rutland, England. Designed by Harry Colt, it began under the patronage of the Earl of Ancaster who had exchanged fields in South Luffenham for common land on the Heath. The opening event in 1911, witnessed by over a thousand spectators, was an exhibition match between James Braid and Harry Vardon. The club initially attracted an aristocratic membership.

Luffenham railway station is a former station of the Syston and Peterborough Railway serving the villages of North and South Luffenham, Rutland. The station was situated adjacent to a level crossing on the North Luffenham to Duddington road. It was about 0.8 miles from each village by road, although only 0.5 miles from South Luffenham by the public footpath that was soon established (and which still exists).

Morcott railway station

Morcott railway station is a former station in Rutland, near the village of Morcott. Parliamentary approval was gained in 1846 by the directors of the London and Birmingham Railway for a branch from Rugby to the Syston and Peterborough Railway near Stamford. In the same year the company became part of the London and North Western Railway. The line opened in 1851 but Morcott was not opened until 1898.
