Uppingham School

Uppingham School is a co-educational independent school situated in the small market town of Uppingham in Rutland, England. The school was founded in 1584 by Robert Johnson, the Archdeacon of Leicester who also established Oakham School. The school's current Headmaster, Richard Harman M.A. , is a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference and the school is a member of the Rugby Group of independent schools in the United Kingdom.

Uppingham Rural District

Uppingham was a rural district in Rutland, England from 1894 to 1974, covering the south-west of the county. The rural district was formed by the Local Government Act 1894 from the part of the Uppingham rural sanitary district in Rutland. At the same time, the remainder of Uppingham RSD, which lay in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire became Hallaton Rural District and Gretton Rural District respectively. The only town in the district was Uppingham.

Catmose College

Catmose College is a secondary academy school on Huntsmans Drive in Oakham, Rutland. The catchment area covers the county town of Oakham and surrounding villages, although students are drawn from a wider area through parental choice. From 1972 until 2009 the school name was Vale of Catmose College. In 2009 the college, in partnership with Rutland County Council started construction of a £23m new campus which opened in 2011.

Manton railway station

Manton railway station or Manton Junction is a former railway station serving the villages of Manton and Wing in the county of Rutland. Opened in 1848 by the Syston and Peterborough Railway, it was situated off the road connecting the two villages and was just over a mile from each, or just over half a mile by the public footpaths that were soon established. It was one of only a handful of stations in the small county of Rutland. Today only Oakham station is still open.

Uppingham railway station

Uppingham railway station was a station in Uppingham, Rutland. It was the terminus of a branch line from Seaton and opened in 1894 and closed in 1960. In 1910, there were five trains daily to Seaton and four return (five on Fridays) and in 1922 there were also five but seven return. The station buildings were demolished and the site became a small industrial area.
