Buxton Opera House
Buxton Opera House is in The Square, Buxton, Derbyshire, England. It is a 902-seat opera house that hosts the annual Buxton Festival and International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival, among others, as well as pantomime at Christmas, musicals and other entertainments year-round. Hosting live performances until 1927, the theatre then was used mostly as a cinema until 1976. In 1979, it was refurbished and reopened as a venue for live performance.
Buxton F.C
Buxton Football Club are an English football club based in Buxton, Derbyshire. They were established in 1877 and joined the Combination League in 1891. They then joined the Manchester League in 1899 and won the championship in 1932. They reached the Third Round of the FA Cup in the 1951–52 season. Their patron is the Duke of Devonshire. The club supports and hosts local senior, junior and ladies football. They are currently members of the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
Higher Buxton railway station
Higher Buxton railway station was opened in 1894 to the south east of Buxton, Derbyshire, on the LNWR line to Ashbourne and the south . It utilised part of the Cromford and High Peak Railway, joining it at Hindlow and proceeding to a branch to Ashbourne at Parsley Hay On leaving its bay at Buxton LNWR station, it turned through a tight 180-degree curve southwards across a thirteen-arch skew viaduct 87 feet high over the Midland line and Spring Gardens, with an uphill gradient of 1 in 62.
Hogshawe
Hogshawe or Hogshaw is an area of settlement in Derbyshire, England. It is a part of Buxton, located between the A6 Fairfield Road and the present Peak Rail railway line. By the 1890s the area had been enclosed on the west and north sides by the London and North Western Railway and Midland Railway lines, with Lightwood Road running across from south-east to north-west.

Gate means "road" in northern English dialects; the name therefore means "road to the bath town".

The Old Hall Hotel is a hotel in Buxton, Derbyshire, England, and is one of the oldest buildings in the town. The current building dates from the Restoration period, built around and incorporating an earlier fortified tower. According to the Derbyshire Archeological Journal (1994): "In the national context, the survival of a building which accommodated both Mary Queen of Scots and much of the Elizabethan nobility is of considerable note.

Buxton Crescent is a Grade-I-listed building in the town of Buxton, Derbyshire, England. Owing much to the Royal Crescent in Bath, but described by the Royal Institution of British Architects as "more richly decorated and altogether more complex", it was designed by the architect John Carr, and built for the Fifth Duke of Devonshire between 1780 and 1789.
