Clowne Rural District

Clowne was a rural district in Derbyshire, England from 1894 to 1974. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 as that part of the Worksop rural sanitary district which was in Derbyshire. It consisted of four civil parishes : Barlborough Clowne Elmton Whitwell It was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972, going on to form part of the new district of Bolsover.

Bolsover Cundy House

Bolsover Cundy House is a recently restored 17th century conduit house that was used to supply water to the nearby Bolsover Castle. It is located near Houfton Road in Bolsover. In the middle of the building is the brick water tank, which still collects water. It was built in the early 17th century and supplied water to the cistern house of Bolsover Castle until the 1920s. The roof is a solid stone vault to make it secure and impervious to decay, unlike timber.

Creswell and Welbeck railway station

Creswell and Welbeck railway station was a railway station in Creswell, Derbyshire, England. It was opened by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway in March 1897 and closed in 1939. From Shirebrook the line ran northwards parallel to the Midland Railway's line, for about two miles, then veered north west to Creswell and Welbeck. The Midland Railway line continued northwards to a station at Elmton and Creswell which has been reopened in recent years as part of the Robin Hood Line.

Note that the adjacent Midland Railway station was at times also named Clowne and Barlborough, and both sometimes dropped the 'e' Clowne South railway station was a former railway station in Clowne, Derbyshire. It was opened by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway in March 1897 and closed in 1939. It was built side by side with the Midland Railway station on the latter's line between Staveley and Elmton, and to the south there was a connection between the two lines.
