Legg's cross

Legg's cross is an Anglo-Saxon cross in County Durham, England, about 4 miles north of Piercebridge on the Pilgrims' Way (the modern B6275 and the old Roman road of Dere Street). The cross is now eroded to an obelisk-like structure, although it once had an inscription reading "LEG", giving rise to the name.

Cliffe, Richmondshire

Cliffe is a small village and civil parish in the Tees Valley near Piercebridge in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England, about 6 miles west of Darlington, and 10 miles north of Richmond and the Yorkshire Dales. Cliffe has a long history, as shown by the number and range of archaeological sites from tumuli to an English Civil War battleground, most of which are scheduled monuments. A stream called the Glen runs through the village to the Tees.

Walworth Castle is a 16th century mansion house, built in the style of a medieval castle and situated at Walworth, near Darlington, County Durham, England. It is a Grade 1 listed building. It was completed around 1600, probably by Thomas Holt for Thomas Jenison. It stands on the site of a former manor house or castle built in the 12th century by the Hansard family.

Thornton Hall, High Coniscliffe

Thornton Hall is a privately owned 16th century manor house (now a farmhouse) at High Coniscliffe, near Darlington, County Durham. It is a Grade I listed building. The house was built in about 1550 for Ralph Talbois. The gabled central block of two storeys plus attics was originally flanked by gabled crosswings. The right wing remains. The left wing has been removed. A two storey entrance porch offcentre carries an embattled parapet. The last of the Talbois died in 1606.
