HMS Onyx (S21)
HMS Onyx was an Oberon class submarine of the Royal Navy. Originally ordered for the Royal Canadian Navy, Onyx was transferred to the Royal Navy whilst under construction at Cammell Laird shipbuilders in Birkenhead, England. She was launched on August 1966 and commissioned into the Royal Navy in September 1967. The first commission of the Onyx saw her visit Swansea in South Wales for the investiture of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.

The Islands of Furness are situated to the south-west and east of the Furness Peninsula. Within England, they are the third biggest collection of islands. They are generally quite small, though at 12.99 km Walney Island is the 8th biggest in England. Of these, only Walney Island, Barrow Island, Roa Island and Piel Island are inhabited. Their combined population is around 15,000, which is about 20% of the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness.
Craven Park, Barrow-in-Furness
Craven Park is a rugby league stadium in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England. It is the home of Barrow Raiders rugby league team. Craven Park was built in 1931, largely as a result of the efforts of supporters of Barrow RLFC, 500 of whom volunteered to construct the ground. The total cost of the building project came to £7,500 which was an unbelievable figure in those days. The stadium was named after Commander G. W.

Walney is the largest island of the Furness Islands group, both in population and size, as well as the largest English island in the Irish Sea.

It operates one of the few shipyards in the world capable of designing and building nuclear submarines, which has constructed all but three of the Royal Navy's nuclear-powered submarines since the commissioning of HMS Dreadnought in 1963.
Furness College, Barrow-in-Furness
Furness College is a college of further education in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. It provides a wide range of vocational education and training to over 16s, notably working with BAE Systems to train apprentices for their shipyard in Barrow. The college also offers evening classes for the local community and runs HNDs in association with the University of Central Lancashire. It is the only further education college in Barrow and the largest provider of education in South Cumbria.

Dova Haw, also known as Crab Island, is a small islet that is one of the Islands of Furness. It is a small tidal island off the coast of Cumbria, England, 0.3 miles from Barrow Island and 0.6 miles from Walney Island, adjacent to the town of Barrow-in-Furness. Previously, Dova Haw was the site of an oil lamp lighthouse built from stone, whose foundations are still visible. Also known as Crab Island people back in the past went crab fishing there.
