Workington County Technical and Secondary School was a secondary school in Workington, Cumbria, England, from 1912 to 1984. It opened on September 17, 1912. At that time it was situated to the north of Vulcans Park, on the site now occupied by the hospital. The first principal was GH Woolatt Ph. D FIC. , known as Dr. Woolatt. At the opening ceremony he spoke of his plan to divide the School into day secondary and trades departments.

The Workington Opera House, or The Opera as it was known, is a purpose built theatre located in Workington, Cumbria, England. Originally built as the Queen’s Jubilee Hall & Opera House it was gutted by fire in 1927 and rebuilt with a fine wide auditorium, and Ornamental ceiling with seating for 1200. The theatre has good sightlines and a large stage and currently sits empty after its former use as a bingo hall ended in 2004.
