Coupland, Cumbria
Coupland is a small village in Cumbria, England in the civil parish of Warcop. It is situated a short distance to the south-east of Appleby-in-Westmorland, just to the north of the A66, and lies within the historic county boundaries of Westmorland. The name 'coupland' may be a corruption of the surname coupman (cf. Kaupmann)
East Westmorland Rural District
East Westmorland was the name of a rural district in the administrative county of Westmorland from 1894 to 1935. The district was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on the former East Ward rural sanitary district, and therefore indirectly on the former East Ward of Westmorland. The district entirely surrounded the municipal borough of Appleby, situated in the north-west of the district. Settlements in the district included Kirkby Stephen and Brough under Stainmore.

St James' Church, Great Ormside
St James' Church, Great Ormside, is an active Anglican church in the village of Great Ormside, Cumbria, England. It is a parish church in the deanery of Appleby, the archdeaconry of Carlisle, and the diocese of Carlisle. The church dates from the 11th century, and has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building. The Ormside Bowl was discovered in the church or churchyard in 1823.
St Columba's Church, Warcop
St Columba's Church, Warcop, is located in the village of Warcop, Cumbria, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Appleby, the archdeaconry of Carlisle, and the diocese of Carlisle. Its benefice is united with those of St Michael, Brough, St Stephen, Stainmore, and St Theobald, Musgrave. The church has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building. On Saint Peter's Day, 29 June, each year the church hosts a rushbearing ceremony.
