RAF Carlisle
RAF Carlisle (previously RAF Kingstown) was a Royal Air Force establishment, now closed after being used for a variety of roles over a period of fifty eight years and formerly located 2 mi north of Carlisle city centre in Cumbria, England. The station was latterly the home of No. 14 Maintenance Unit and occupied the various sites originally used by RAF Kingstown's Elementary Flying Training School during World War II.

There are seven known rings of the Anglo-Saxon period (9th or 10th century) bearing runic inscriptions. The most notable of these are the Bramham Moor Ring, found in the 18th century, and the Kingmoor Ring, found 1817, inscribed with a nearly identical magical formula read as ærkriufltkriuriþonglæstæpontol A third ring, found before 1824 (perhaps identical with a ring found in 1773 at Linstock castle in Carlisle), has a magical inscription of a similar type, ery. ri. uf. dol. yri. þol. wles.

Kirkandrews-on-Eden or Kirkandrews-upon-Eden, in the past known as Kirkanders, is a small village in the parish of Beaumont, in the City of Carlisle District of the county of Cumbria, England. The village is found 4 miles North-West of Carlisle. Kirkandrews forms part of the Barony of Burgh together with the nearby villages Monkhill, Grinsdale, Rattlingate and Burgh-by-Sands.
Grinsdale
Grinsdale is a village in the parish of Beaumont, in the City of Carlisle district, in the English county of Cumbria. Grinsdale has a church called St Kentigern's Church. It is the source of the surname. It is also beside the River Eden. It was once a parish. Grinsdale Grinsdale lies beside the river Eden near Carlisle. Four Roman military marching camps were set up in the area. The rich loamy soil encouraged farming around Grinsdale.
Todhills Rest Area
Todhills Rest Area is a rest area in between Junctions 44-45 of the M6. It is the last Services Northbound on the M6 and the first Southbound. It was first opened in the 1980s on the A74 but when the M6 was extended, it was believed that the rest area would close so the road could be widened but they widened it without having the close the rest area. Todhills is not classed as a Service Station because it only has one shop.
