Countess Pillar
The Countess Pillar is a 17th-century monument near Brougham, Cumbria, England, between Penrith and Appleby. It is two miles east of Penrith on the A66. The square top of the pillar is brightly painted and carries sundials on its sides. It was erected by Lady Anne Clifford in 1656 to mark the place where she said goodbye for the last time to her mother, Margaret Clifford, Countess of Cumberland.

Langwathby railway station
Langwathby railway station is a railway station which serves the village of Langwathby in Cumbria, England. It is operated by Northern Rail who provide all passenger train services. The station was built by the Midland Railway and opened in 1876. It closed when local stopping trains over the Settle-Carlisle Line were withdrawn in May 1970, but was reopened in July 1986. The Carlisle-bound (down) station building has been converted into the Brief Encounter Tea Rooms and an antique shop.

Ninekirks
Ninekirks is the local name for St Ninian's church, Brougham, Cumbria. Dedicated to Saint Ninian, it was formerly the Anglican parish church for Brougham, a parish which is now combined with Clifton, a neighbouring village. It is preserved as a redundant church for its architectural interest, and presents a mainly seventeenth-century appearance. It has been known as Ninekirks since at least 1583 (Bouch, 1950).

It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Penrith, the archdeaconry of Carlisle, and the diocese of Carlisle. Its benefice has been united with those of seven local parishes to form the Cross Fell Group of churches. The church has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building. It stands to the southeast of the village, and is surrounded by parkland.
