Duddon Valley

The Duddon Valley is a valley in the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. The River Duddon flows through the valley, rising in the mountains between Eskdale and Langdale, before flowing into the Irish Sea near Broughton in Furness. In its lower reaches it is bounded by the Furness Fells and Harter Fell. The part of the valley near the village of Ulpha is marked as "Dunnerdale" on Ordnance Survey maps, and upstream towards the village of Seathwaite is Hall Dunnerdale.

Foxfield, Cumbria

Foxfield is a village on the west coast of Cumbria, in the Furness district that was part of Lancashire from 1182 to 1974. It lies on the Duddon Estuary, just outside of the Lake District National Park, around ten miles to the north-east of Barrow-in-Furness and one mile out of Broughton-in-Furness. It is part of the parish of Broughton West. Foxfield is best known for the Prince of Wales Pub, which has its own micro-brewery.

Eccle Riggs

Eccle Riggs is a country house located on Eccle Riggs, a ridge of land about 0.75 miles to the south of Broughton-in-Furness, Cumbria, England. It was built in 1865 in Tudor style for Richard Assheton Cross and designed by the Lancaster architect E. G. Paley. A dining-room wing was added in 1880 by the Manchester architect J. S. Crowther. It has since been used as a leisure club.

Dunnerdale Fells

Dunnerdale Fells is an upland area in the English Lake District, between Ulpha and Broughton Mills, Cumbria. It is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. Wainwright's route starts from a minor road on the west of the fell, in the valley of the River Duddon, to reach a cairned summit at 920 feet, and returns on the same route for part of the way before making a small anticlockwise loop.
