Waskerley
Waskerley is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated six miles to the southwest of Consett and three miles southwest of Castleside and the A68. Stanhope in the Durham Dales is a further six miles to the southwest and the Derwent Reservoir and the village of Edmundbyers is approximately five miles to the north. The village of Muggleswick is three miles to the north. Waskerley sits on top of Waskerley Moor, straddling a road between Castleside and Stanhope.

Tunstall Reservoir
Tunstall Reservoir lies 3.5 km north of the village of Wolsingham, in Weardale, County Durham. The reservoir was constructed on behalf of the Weardale and Shildon District Waterworks Company between 1887 and 1879. It was created by erecting an earth embankment dam across the valley of Waskerley Beck. The dam, 1020 feet long and 82 feet high, was constructed with a puddle clay core.

Waskerley Reservoir is the largest of a group of three reservoirs located on Muggleswick Common, County Durham, the others being Smiddy Shaw and Hisehope Reservoirs. The reservoir, which was constructed in 1877, is owned and operated by Northumbrian Water. It and Smiddy Shaw—which in turn is fed by Hisehope—feed water under gravity to a water treatment works at Honey Hill.
