Easington District
Easington was, from 1974 to 2009, a local government district in eastern County Durham, England. It contained the settlements of Easington, Seaham, Peterlee, Murton, Horden, Blackhall, Wingate and Castle Eden. It did not however include Easington Lane which is administered as part of the City of Sunderland. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of Seaham urban district with most of Easington Rural District.
Shotton Colliery
Shotton Colliery is a village in County Durham, England. It is situated to the west of Peterlee. There are two villages in the parish of Shotton. Old Shotton is a small village to the southeast of the main village and is now merged into the town of Peterlee.
Little Thorpe
Little Thorpe is a hamlet or village in County Durham, in England. It is situated between Easington and Peterlee. This small settlement literally derives its name from the fact it is a small village, as "Thorpe" is Anglo-Saxon for village. It seems to have been a community that was originally centred around a farmstead, and most of the buildings appear to be in the Elizabethan style, but are more probably Victorian in age.

Easington Academy
Easington Academy is a secondary school with academy status located in the village of Easington, County Durham, England. The school school was first created as Easington Comprehensive school in 1978, as a reult of a merger between Easington Secondary Modern School and Murton Secondary Modern School. The school was later renamed Easington Community School, and then Easington Community Science College in January 2007 after becoming a specialist science college.
Old Shotton
Old Shotton is a village, in Easington district of County Durham, England, The village once lay on the route of the A19, before its redirection to the west of the village. Although Old Shotton retains its own identity, and its own village sign, it now forms part of the new town of Peterlee. Following the foundation of Peterlee in 1948, the town spread westward, towards the A19, and so by the 1970s this small village had already begun to be encroached on.
East Durham College Technical Academy
East Durham College Technical Academy is a construction training college in the North East of England. The College provides training for people who wante to work in the construction industry, as well as providing additional skills development for people already working in the industry. Students of all ages can enrol on a range of full-time and part-time courses.
