Ushaw College
Ushaw College, a former Catholic seminary and Licensed Hall of Residence of the University of Durham, covers 400 acres in the village of Ushaw Moor in the UK. It was founded in 1808 by scholars from English College, Douai, who had fled France after that college had been closed during the French Revolution. Ushaw College had been affiliated with the University of Durham since 1968.

Waterhouses (County Durham) railway station
Waterhouses railway station, on the Deerness Valley Railway, south of the village of Esh Winning in County Durham, was opened on 1 November 1877 by the North Eastern Railway. The station served as the passenger terminus of the line, although goods wagons continued to East Hedley Hope and Waterhouses collieries. The station closed to passengers on 29 October 1951, and freight on 28 December 1964. The stone and timber built station was demolished and the site is now a park.
Ushaw Moor railway station
Ushaw Moor railway station, was a station on the Deerness Valley Railway, south of the village of Ushaw Moor in County Durham, was opened on 1 September 1884 by the North Eastern Railway. The station closed to passengers on 29 October 1951, and freight on 28 December 1964. The stone and timber built station was demolished and few traces of it remain. The trackbed now forms part of the Deerness Valley Railway Path.
