Whitworth, County Durham
Whitworth was a civil parish in County Durham, in England, centred around Whitworth Hall. It was one of several parishes abolished in 1937 to create the parish of Spennymoor. Whitworth Hall (now a hotel) is on the road between Spennymoor and Brancepeth, and is close to Tudhoe. The house was in former times the home of the Shafto family, whose most famous member (from the 18th century) was Bobby Shafto, subject of a famous English nursery rhyme.

Brancepeth is a village and civil parish in County Durham, in England. It is situated about 8 km from Durham on the A690 road between Durham and Weardale. Brancepeth Castle was until 1570 the fortress of the Neville Earls of Westmorland. The castle was extensively modified and rebuilt in the 19th century. St Brandon's Church used to have fine 17th century woodwork until it was destroyed in a major fire in 1998.

Byers Green railway station
Byers Green railway station was a railway station in the village of Byers Green in County Durham, Northeast England. The station was opened by the Clarence Railway, after it opened its Byers Green branch from Ferryhill in 1837. From 1840 it became a junction station, between the Clarence and the West Durham Railway towards Crook. Taken over by the Stockton and Darlington Railway, it then became owned by the North Eastern Railway.
