Harpenden Town Football Club is a football club based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, England. It was established in 1891 and was the founding member of the Herts County League in 1898. It has reached the Second Round of the FA Vase twice in its history. It is currently a member of the Spartan South Midlands Football League Division One for the 2012–13 season.

Lydekker Park is a 3-acre park in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. The land was formerly part of the garden of Harpenden Lodge, built in 1803, home for many years to the Lydekkers, one of the town's oldest families. In 1937 Hilda Lydekker, last surviving member of the Lydekker family, entered into an agreement with the former Harpenden Urban District Council that the 11 acres of land attached to Harpenden lodge should become an open space for the people of Harpenden.

Harpenden East railway station
Harpenden East was one of two stations serving the town of Harpenden, the other station which remains open being Harpenden Central. Originally named Harpenden, the East suffix was added in 1950 to distinguish it from the Midland Railway station.
Chiltern Green railway station
Chiltern Green railway station was built by the Midland Railway in 1868 on its extension to St. Pancras. The station was located in New Mill End but took its name from the small hamlet of Chiltern Green about a mile away. Adjacent to it was the GNR station of Luton Hoo also located in New Mill End. The small hamlet of New Mill End is unique in having two railway stations (Chiltern Green and Luton Hoo) neither of which, after 1st December 1891, were named after the village they served.
Luton Hoo railway station
Luton Hoo railway station was built by the Hertford, Luton & Dunstable Railway on the branch line between Hatfield and Dunstable. It opened in 1860 and was originally called New Mill End. In 1861 the railway was taken over by the Great Northern Railway. The name changed to Luton Hoo in 1891 and the station closed in 1965. The last passenger train, packed with enthusiasts, was hauled by Brush Type 2 D5589 on 24 April 1965. It served Luton Hoo house and the village of New Mill End.

Court Line Flight 95 was an international charter flight from London Luton Airport, Bedfordshire, England, to Munich-Riem Airport, West Germany, operated on 18 April 1974 by Court Line (Aviation) Ltd BAC One-Eleven 518 G-AXMJ. During its take-off run, Piper PA-23 Aztec G-AYDE of McAlpine Aviation entered the active runway without permission.
