Birmingham and Fazeley Canal
The Birmingham and Fazeley Canal is a canal of the Birmingham Canal Navigations in the West Midlands of England. Its purpose was to provide a link between the Coventry Canal and Birmingham and thereby connect Birmingham to London via the Oxford Canal.
Sentinel (sculpture)
Sentinel is a 16m high sculpture by Tim Tolkien, installed upon a traffic island at the intersection of the Chester Road and the A47 Fort Parkway at the entrance to the Castle Vale estate in Birmingham, England. It is near Junction 5 of the M6 motorway and the present day Jaguar Cars plant (the former Castle Bromwich aircraft factory). It shows three Supermarine Spitfires peeling off up into the air in different directions.
British Industries Fair
The British Industries Fair was an important exhibition centre in Birmingham, England. The large complex of buildings was built in 1920 and was situated between Castle Bromwich Aerodrome and the railway line. For two weeks every year it was the most visited attraction in the country. In 1933, the first diesel locomotive arrived for display at the BIF.
Castle Bromwich Rural District
Castle Bromwich was a rural district in Warwickshire, England from 1894 to 1912. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Aston rural sanitary district. It consisted of the parishes of Castle Bromwich, Curdworth, Minworth, Water Orton and Wishaw. The district was abolished in 1912, and the parishes added to the Meriden Rural District.
Fort Dunlop
Fort Dunlop, is the common name of the original tyre factory and main office of Dunlop Rubber in the Erdington district of Birmingham, England. It was established in 1917, and by 1954 the entire factory area employed 10,000 workers. At one time it was the world's largest factory, when it employed 3,200 workers. Fort Dunlop, the main building of the former factory area, is next to the M6 motorway, near to junction 5. It is a Grade A locally listed building.
Bromwich Castle
Bromwich Castle was in the large village now called Castle Bromwich in the West Midlands. The remains of a motte and bailey castle have been largely destroyed by the construction of the M6 motorway. There is evidence for a timber structure on top of the motte and for 12-13th century buildings inside the bailey along with a 16th century house.

Pype Hayes Hall is a former mansion house in the Pype Hayes area of Erdington, Birmingham, West Midlands. The hall is in Pype Hayes Park by the gardens. It was formerly in the historic county of Warwickshire before being transferred into the new county of the West Midlands along with the rest of the city. It has Grade II listed status.

Castle Vale Shopping Centre
Castle Vale Shopping Centre (also known as Castle Vale Retail Park) is a retail park located on the Castle Vale estate in Birmingham, England. It is situated off the A452 Chester Road and was originally built in the 1970s. The original centre was built in 1970 to serve the new housing estate that was being developed at this time. It was initially very popular thanks to its wide range of shops and modern, functional design.
Castle Bromwich railway station
Castle Bromwich railway station was a railway station in Birmingham opened by the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway in 1842. It was on the line into Birmingham Lawley Street from Water Orton. In the mid-Twentieth century it was the alighting point for the British Industries Fair Local trains finished in 1968 though excursions would sometimes call. A new station at this location is proposed.
Fort Parkway railway station
Fort Hill Parkway is a prospective new parkway railway station to the east of Birmingham, England. It has yet to be passed and is still in planning stages. It would be located on the Birmingham to Peterborough Line, and would give the east of Birmingham local commuter trains easing congestion on the roads into the city. The close proximity to the motorways would draw in longer distance passengers who wish to commute into the West Midlands conurbation.
Plantsbrook Local Nature Reserve
Plantsbrook Local Nature Reserve is a nature reserve on the Plants Brook in Birmingham, England, consisting of open water, wetland, woodland and meadow. It is located on Eachelhurst Road, on the border of the Pype Hayes and Walmley districts. The reserve, managed by Birmingham City Council, measures 10.72 hectares and is used as an educational resource.
