Smyrna
Smyrna was an ancient city located at a central and strategic point on the Aegean coast of Anatolia. Due to its advantageous port conditions, its ease of defence and its good inland connections, Smyrna rose to prominence. The ancient city is located at two sites within modern İzmir, Turkey. The first site, probably founded indigenously, rose to prominence during the Archaic Period as one of the principal ancient Greek settlements in western Anatolia.

Home of the basketball club Tuborgspor, it is the biggest indoor sport hall in İzmir, where competitions of basketball, volleyball and handball are held. İzmir Atatürk Sport Hall hosted basketball games of the Universiade 2005, which was held between August 11 and 21 2005 in İzmir.

Ege University in Bornova, a district of Izmir, the third largest city in Turkey and one of its principal industrial, commercial, cultural and tourist centers.

Izmir Air Station is a United States Air Force facility in Izmir, Turkey. It is located 320 km SSW of Istanbul, on the western coast of Turkey. U.S. responsibilities in the Izmir area began on September 8, 1952 with the activation of Allied Land Forces Southeast Europe and the arrival on October 14, 1953 of the Sixth Allied Tac AF at Sirinyer Garrison south of Izmir.
Izmir International Fair
The Izmir International Fair, also spelled İzmir International Fair, is the oldest tradeshow in Turkey, considered the cradle of Turkey's fairs and expositions industry, and is also notable for hosting a series of simultaneous festival activities. The fair and the festival are held in the compound of İzmir's vast inner city park named Kültürpark in the first days of September, and organized by İZFAŞ, a depending company of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
Kadifekale
Kadifekale (literally "the velvet castle" in Turkish) is the name of the hill located within the urban zone of İzmir, Turkey, as well as being the name of the ancient castle on top of the same hill. Both the hill and the castle were named Pagos in pre-Turkish times and by the local Greeks in modern times.
Eşrefpaşa
Eşrefpaşa is a popular and rooted neighborhood of İzmir within the metropolitan district of Konak. It does not have an official status and delimitation and exists rather as a notion. Eşrefpaşa encompasses up to twenty officially constituted and densely populated quarters (mahalle) in the city's inner parts.
Buca Arena
Buca Arena is a football stadium in Izmir and is located near to Yedigöller, north of Buca. Construction began in 2008; the opening ceremony of the new stadium was in 2009. The official capacity of Buca Arena is 10,000. Near the stadium, a carpet area, two basketball courts, jogging paths and a 300 car parking lot are located. Bucaspor played its first official match against Çorumspor on 18 January 2009.
Halkapınar (İzmir Metro)
The Halkapınar Metro Station is a metro station on the Izmir Metro. The station was built in 1999 and opened in 2000. The station is a part of the Halkapınar Transportation Center where connections are available to the Turkish State Railways and ESHOT, İZULAŞ bus services. The İzmir Metro has a maintenance facility next to the station as well.

Bornova (İzmir Metro)
Bornova is the eastern terminus of the İzmir Metro. The station was built in 2000 a few metres west of the former Smyrna Cassaba Railway's station and has a connection to the Bornova Bus Terminal. The Izmir Metro is extending the line further to Bornova's city center, because the current station is not in the centre.
İzmir Basmane Terminal
İzmir Basmane Terminal is one of the two main railway stations in İzmir, the other being Alsancak. The station is serviced by regional train service going to Nazilli, Aydın, Ödemiş, Tire, Selçuk and Söke.
İzmir Alsancak Terminal
Alsancak Terminal or Alsancak Railway Station in İzmir is the second-oldest railway station in Turkey, after the Kemer Railway Station (also in İzmir), being completed in 1858. The station houses the headquarters of TCDD District 3 and is the largest station in Turkey by size. Alsancak station is one of the busiest stations in Turkey. The station was electrified in 2001, with 25 kV AC overhead wire.

Stadyum is a station on the İzmir Metro's Üçyol-Bornova Line. It stands near the former site of the SCP's Mersinli railway station. Stadyum usually services passenger going to and from Atatürk Stadium and the Halkapınar Arena.
Hilal (İzmir Metro)
Hilal is a station on the İzmir Metro. It is located at the famous Hilal Junction on the site of the former Hilal railway station, that was demolished in 2002.
Basmane (İzmir Metro)
Basmane is an underground station on the Üçyol-Bornova Line of the İzmir Metro. The station is directly beneath Basmane Terminal and is a transfer point between Regional trains from the south to the Subway. Also the station is used for people travelling to the International Fair located near the station.
Bornova Ice Sports Hall
Bornova Ice Sports Hall (Turkish: Bornova Buz Sporları Salonu), aka İzmir BB Ice Sports Hall (Turkish: İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi Buz Sporları Salonu) is an indoor ice skating and ice hockey rink located within the Aşık Veysel Recreation Area in Bornova district of İzmir, western Turkey. It was opened on September 28, 2010. Owned by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the venue has a seating capacity of 1,751 spectators.
