Akmerkez is a shopping mall located in the Etiler quarter of Istanbul, Turkey. It was commissioned on December 18, 1993 by a joint venture of the Akkök, Tekfen and İstikbal companies. The Akmerkez complex covers an area of 180,000 m² and consists of a four-storey shopping area, with two towers offering 14 and 17 stories of office space, and a third tower with 24 stories of residential areas.

MetroCity AVM, opened on April 30, 2003, is a modern shopping mall in the finance and business quarter of 1. Levent in Istanbul, Turkey, with a direct connection to 1. Levent subway station. The complex comprises a shopping mall and three towers which rise above it: a 27-floor office tower on Büyükdere Avenue (31 floors when counted from the Zincirlikuyu level at the opposite side), and two residential towers, each having 31 floors (35 floors from Zincirlikuyu level).
Levent
Levent is a neighbourhood and one of the main business districts of Istanbul, Turkey, located on the European side of the city. It is a part of the municipality of Beşiktaş which is situated to the north of the Golden Horn, at the western shore of the Bosphorus strait. Levent is in direct competition with the nearby Maslak business district for new skyscraper projects.
Maslak
Maslak is one of the main business districts of Sarıyer, Istanbul, Turkey, located on the European side of the city. It was formerly an exclave of the municipality of Şişli, though being far north and actually closer to the municipalities of Sarıyer and Beşiktaş. Therefore, a legislation was approved by the Interior Commission of the Turkish Parliament on October 18, 2012, that shifted the jurisdiction of the Maslak district from Şişli to Sarıyer.
BJK Akatlar Arena
BJK Akatlar Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Akatlar, Istanbul, Turkey. The arena is the home court of Beşiktaş J.K. ; it also serves the volleyball team. It is also suitable to host other events, such as concerts. The Istanbul Municipality handed over its rights to multi-sports team Beşiktaş J.K. after the arena's construction and opening in 2004.
İstinye

Kanyon (meaning Canyon in Turkish) is a multi-purpose complex located at Büyükdere Avenue No. 185 in the Levent business district of Istanbul, Turkey. Opened on 6 June 2006, it unites a 160-store shopping mall (covering an area of 37,500 m), a 30-floor office tower (26 floors of which rise above street level) and a 22-floor residential block with 179 residential apartments into a complex undulating around a dramatic architectural “canyon”.

Darüşşafaka High School
Darüşşafaka High School is one of the most prominent and influential schools of Turkey and is located in Maslak, Istanbul. The school was founded by the Darüşşafaka Association with the name "Islamic Education Association" in 1873. This date is controversial, with some sources claiming it was 1872. However, there is a consensus that the school started formal education in 1873 in the Fatih region of Istanbul, and gained its first graduates in 1881.

Türk Telekom Arena
Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi - Türk Telekom Arena is a multi-purpose stadium in the Şişli district of Istanbul, Turkey. It is the new home ground for Galatasaray S.K. , replacing the old Ali Sami Yen Stadı. The all-seater stadium has the capacity to host 52,652 spectators during football games. On March 18, 2011, it recorded 131.76 decibels which is considered as being a world record as 'loudest crowd roar at a sport stadium' for Guinness World Records.

Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art is a private collection museum, founded by Dr. Can Elgiz. The museum opened in 2001, when there were no non-profit institutions in Turkey dedicated to contemporary art. Zincirlikuyu Cemetery
The Zincirlikuyu Cemetery is a modern burial ground at the European part of Istanbul, Turkey. It is administered by the Metropolitan Municipality. Many prominent figures from the world of politics, business, sports and arts rest here. The cemetery is located in the Şişli district between Esentepe and Levent neighborhoods. It is Istanbul’s first cemetery established in a contemporary structure. Planned in 1935, the burial place reached in the 1950s to its boundaries of today.
2008 United States consulate in Istanbul attack
The 2008 United States consulate in Istanbul attack was a result of gunfire on the consulate resulting in six casualties; of which three were the three gunmen, and three Turkish National Police officers. The attack occurred on July 9, 2008 in the morning hours, at a time when the embassy is at full function and an attack is most likely to cause more casualties. It is the responsibility of the host state to take care of security as per Article 30 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
