Hatay Province
Hatay Province is a province in southern Turkey, on the Mediterranean coast. It is bordered by Syria to the south and east and the Turkish provinces of Adana and Osmaniye to the north. The province is part of Çukurova, a geographical, economical and cultural region that covers the provinces of Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye, and Hatay. The administrative capital is Antakya (Antioch), and the other major city in the province is the port city of İskenderun (Alexandretta).
Hatay State
Hatay State, also known informally as the Republic of Hatay, was a transitional political entity that existed from September 7, 1938, to June 29, 1939, in the territory of the Sanjak of Alexandretta of the French Mandate of Syria. The state was transformed de jure into the Hatay Province on July 7, 1939, and joined Turkey de facto on July 23, 1939. Hatay Province includes districts of Erzin, Dörtyol and Hassa in addition to former Hatay State territories.
Nur Mountains
The Nur Mountains (Turkish: Nur Dağları, "Mountains of Holy Light"), also known as Gâvur Mountains, the ancient Amanus, is a mountain range in the Hatay Province of south-central Turkey, which runs roughly parallel to the Gulf of İskenderun. The range reaches a maximum elevation of 2,240 m and divides the coastal region of Cilicia from inland Syria. The highest peak is Bozdağ. A major pass through the mountains known as the Syrian Gates is located near the town of Belen.
Myriandrus
Myriandrus (or Myriandros) was an ancient Phoenician town and seaport located near the modern city of İskenderun, Turkey. In 233 BC Alexander the Great intended to lay an ambush at Myriandrus of Darius III of Persia but in the end the battle took place near Issus.
Pinarus River
The Pinarus River is a small mountain spring fed stream famous in antiquity as the site of the First Battle of Issus, near a small coastal village or town which was reported to straddle the stream which by similar sources, was said to run red with blood after Alexander the Great leading his elite Companion cavalry turned the right flank of the Persians, smashed the center and routed the Persian forces personally led by Darius III of Persia, who subsequently fled the field in a panic.
Belen Pass
The Belen Pass, also known as the Syrian Gates and Amanus Pass, is a mountain pass located in the Belen District of Hatay Province in south-central Turkey. The narrow pass through the Nur Mountains, said to be 300 paces across, is the most important route from the coastal region of Cilicia to inland Syria. The pass is perhaps best known as the point through which Alexander the Great pursued the forces of Darius III of Persia after the Battle of Issus.
Iskenderun Naval Base
Iskenderun Naval Base (Turkish: İskenderun Deniz Üssü) is a base of the Turkish Navy on the north-eastern coast of Mediterranean Sea, 2.5 km east by north-east of Iskanderun, Hatay Province in southern Turkey. It is assigned to Turkish Navy's Southern Sea Area Command. The base is adjacent to the Port of Iskenderun.

It is on Turkish state highway D.817 which connects İskenderun to north. The distance to İskenderun is 9 kilometres and to Antakya (province center) is 65 kilometres . The population is of Denizciler is 17154 as of 2011. Denizciler is a recent town.

Bekbele is a town in İskenderun district of Hatay Province, Turkey. The distance to Antakya (the administraticve center of the province) is about 80 kilometres . The population of Bekbele is 7412 as of 2011.
