The House of Representatives sits in the Red House in Port of Spain. It has 41 members, each elected to represent single-seat constituencies. The Parliament is elected with a five-year life-span, but may be dissolved earlier by the President at any time if so advised by the Prime Minister.
Queen's Park Oval
Queen's Park Oval, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, is currently the largest capacity cricket ground in the West Indies and has hosted more Test matches than any other ground in the Caribbean. It also hosted a number of matches in the 2007 Cricket World Cup. It is privately owned by the Queen's Park Cricket Club and has seating for about 25,000. Royal Botanic Gardens, Trinidad
The Royal Botanic Gardens in Trinidad is located in Port of Spain. The Gardens, which were established in 1818, are situated just north of the Queen's Park Savannah. This is one of the oldest Botanic Gardens in the world. The landscaped site occupies 61.8 acres (25 hectares) and contains some 700 trees, of which some 13% are indigenous to Trinidad and Tobago, whilst others are collected from every continent of the world . The Gardens are open to the public every day of the year from 6 a.m.
Beetham Estate Gardens
Beetham Estate Garden is a neighbourhood in eastern Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago south of Laventille and northeast of Sea Lots between the Beetham Highway and the Eastern Main Road. Formerly, a slum called rat town, the community evolved as a residential area to some extent. The area still has squatters living in the vicinity. In 2008-9 the government built a four foot (1.2m) high wall around the 'gardens'.

The Port of Spain International Waterfront Centre is a construction project aimed at revitalizing and transforming the waterfront of the capital-city Port of Spain located in Trinidad and Tobago. The project is a part of the overall Vision 2020, a government policy attempting to take Trinidad and Tobago to developed country status by 2020. The master plan involves constructing two 26-story office towers, a 22-story Hyatt Regency Hotel, and the Caribbean region’s largest conference centre.
