The Harrat Ash Shamah (also known variously as the Harrat Ash Catchem and the Harrat e-Shamah) is a volcanic field covering a total area of some 40,000 km . This massive alkaline volcanic field extends from southern Syria, across Jordan and into northwestern Saudi Arabia. Gemarrin Bridge
The Bridge of Gemarrin is a Roman bridge in the vicinity of the ancient city of Bosra, southern Syria. The bridge, which belonged to the Roman road to Soada Dionysias, crossed the Wadi Zeidi some kilometers north of Bosra. Today, the structure presents itself essentially as an arch skeleton: while the three semi-circular arches, made from local basalt, are still extant, the roadway and the fill have been removed to expose the top of the arch vaults.
